OK! it was too nice outside here over the weekend for me to sit down at my computer. Warning: I will be out of town for the 4th weekend.

Uh oh, I am leaving for a long holiday weekend too. I am pretty sure this cabin has wifi though, which doesn't always happen, so I'll be around. But doubt I will take the time to do updates. The cabin sits on the Clark Fork river and I have trout to slay.

I'm also happy my dogs will be in the middle of nowhere and have a nice quiet weekend. One of them in particular gets really scared with all the fireworks.

Kirk McCarty, LHP, Indians. McCarty tossed five innings while allowing one run for high Class A Lynchburg. The lefthander worked around three hits without allowing any walks. Cleveland’s No. 30 prospect had injury troubles early on this season and is building up innings over his four starts thus far.

"not eligible" since he is not on their serious prospect list, catcher Yainer Diaz just keeps hitting in his return to AZL, He's now at 500/513/642.
Last year he hit 355/387/503. He's already surpassed his HR total of 2 with 3 these few weeks of action. He's 20 so certainly not too young for a promotion to Mahoning Valley where the resident catchers are not prospects

Today's schedule:

Hillbilly said he'd report on the DSL but I'm looking now and there's not much to see; Angel Martinez and Gabriel Rodriguez were both hitless. throwing error for GRod playing SS today. Jr. Sanquintin with a pair of hits for the coop team.

Speer 1.80 almost exclusively in relief is starting for Akron
Tully reaches AAA; 4.54 in Akron, with 296 batting average against; I dont' see any reason to think he's moved up the prospect ratings, but he's a steady, injury-free pitcher who fills a minor league role

Akron's up 4-2. Tom with his 14th homer.

Lynchburg trailing 3-1. Tyler Freeman 1-2 now at 333. Jones 0-2 at 285. Benson 0-2 165. But Freeman's 2 errors and one by Wakamatsu make all the runs in 4 innings off Garza unearned.

Mah Valley behind 6-0 after 3 inning scoreless duel. Liam Jenkins a 6-8 no hoper allowed all the runs, his ERA now at9.69. Delgado and Valera each 1-2. Rocchio has the day off.

Cleveland #Indians have signed 2019 27th Round MLB Draft Pick 17yr old 6'1 180lbs (SS) Landy Pena out of Leadership Christian Academy, Puerto Rico.

Indians 20yr old (C) prospect Yainer Diaz is beyond hot to start his 2019 season in the AZL. Diaz has hit in all 9 games, 7 of which have been multi-hit affairs. In 2018 he finished 2nd in the AZL w/ a .355 AVG.

Today is international signing day. Indians are expected to sign a massive haul.

if Bradley doesn't catch fire before the All Star break, I assume he'll go back down and Allen will come up afterwards; Bauer will return to 1st and DH which he prefers anyway.

Noticed those lines for Brauny Munoz; what do he know about what pitches he has in his repertoire? And/or his bonus on July 2 a couple years ago when he signed?

As stated, Munoz is at the top of the rotation and is new to the AZL, but not to the Indians. The 18 year old has a low 90’s fastball with good control within the zone and at least one solid secondary offering. While he won’t blow anyone away, he pitched well last year and in extended spring training in 2019.
