AZL Red lost 4-3. ... Valdes 0-1. ... Bartlett and Naranjo 0-2.

AZL Blue won 4-1. ... Bracho 1-2 an RBI double. ... Noel 2-4 with a double.

Indians Prospective @indiansPro

#Indians have signed 21yr old 5'10 199lbs 14th Round 2019 MLB Draft Pick INF Ike Freeman out of the University of North Carolina. Freeman has been assigned to the AZL Indians (Blue) squad.

Congrats to #Indians 20yr old SS Tyler Freeman & 21yr old OF Will Benson on their promotions to (High A) Lynchburg after the Midwest All-Star game! The Hillcats start their 2nd Half of the season on Thursday.

-

(That is some good news. Can't wait to see how they do)

-

#Indians OF Bradley Zimmer update: Zimmer had some inflammation in his shoulder from ramping things up to 100%. He was shut down last Monday for 10 days & but should be back at it by the end of this week out in Goodyear.

Columbus Clippers transaction
Yu-Chang activated off the 7-day IL

Mahoning Valley Scrapper RHP Ethan Hankins didn't disappoint in his first start of 2019. Hankins had a lot of hype coming into the season & certainly lived up to it tonight vs Batavia. He sat at 94-95 topping out at 97.

Civ mentioned some draftees on the Arizona team. I'm personally anxious to see Bartlett and Naranjo, the two 1st basemen we drafted. Both reportedly have good bats. It would be nice if one of these guys panned out. We need a pro hitter in the ranks.

Oddly enough both are on the red team. I thought one would be on red and the other on blue. Guess they will split 1b/DH for same team. ... But Naranjo left game early yesterday so guess he's hurt already. Bartlett was 1-3 with a double.

Espino and Valdez are both on that red team too. ... Bracho is on blue team. Anxious to see how he does too

Tribe prospects distinguish themselves very little in Carolina all star game:

Oscar Gonzalez 1-5 with 2 strikeouts.
Nolan Jones DNP
Juan Hillman 2/3 inning, 2 hits, a walk, a throwing error, 4 runs
LHP Adam Scott DNP

Meanwhile,

in Dominican, Angel Maritnez singled and stole a base

in Arizona Cairo 0-2 Naranjo 0-2 Y.Diaz double and single. Bracho 2B and RBI
don't know any of the pitchers, 20 year RHP W. Sanchez 2 2/3 perfect innings, fanned 6. He had an 8.94 ERA at the same level last summer

for Mah Valley, Delgado doubled and walked; Jon.Rod two singles and a steal, hitting 467; Valera and Rocchio rested.

for Akron, Ernie Clement singled, tripled and walked twice and stole a base. Sam Hentges started strong and wilted: 5 6 7 7 2 4 [2 homeruns]

and for the Clippers, bobby Bradley singled and walked and hit NO homers; Eric Haase walked twice and hit his 4th double but also NO homers ]17 homers compared to the double total is kind of weird]. Chang return from long stint on the IL, as DH, singled in 3 trips.

Nick Sandlin 2 on base in his 1 scoreless inning; his ERA is an OK 3.28 but the only two runs he;s allowed in AAA were because Neil Ramirez gave up a homer in Sandlin's relief in his debut

I combined two posts into one so info wouldn't get lost on the previous page. But apparently it did anyway.

Angel Martinez has a modest 8 game hit streak going. Only Ernie Clement at 12 has a current longer streak.

Clement started slow; got hurt; and has been much more solid since he returned. 314/42/376. Not much power; not a lot of walks; very few steals.
He's been almost exclusively at SS this year; don't know he rates as a defender, he's made 8 errors; fielding avg 948; his range factor is 4.47/ 9 innings;
Tito liked him in the spring.

Was just looking at a Top 50 Prospect list from Bleacher Report. We only had one on the list.

38.

3B Nolan Jones, Cleveland Indians (A+)

Elite plate discipline has helped make Jones a top-tier prospect, and his budding power gives him a real chance to be a star. The 21-year-old hit .283/.405/.466 with 19 home runs and a 17.1 percent walk rate last season and he is sporting a ridiculous 19.6 percent walk rate and a .431 on-base percentage at High-A this year.

Not a great night for some of our talented young arms. Morgan and Nelson both were wild for Akron, and gave up 3 runs apiece. And Vargas gave up 4 for Scrappers.

on the bright side, Chang with a homer in his second game back for the Clippers.
Benson and Freeman are to move up to Lynchburg as of today.
Jon.Rod drew two walks; Korey Holland singled and homered
Ernie Clement 2-7 over 2 Akron games; Robert Broom fanned 3 in one inning of relief: another fast rising 2018 draft pick reliever.

Yes, I’ve been talking up Broom for a while now. The amazing start by Karinchak drew the spotlight. But Nelson and Broom have been quietly kicking butt in the background. Both are doing better than Sandlin, who everyone thought would be a quick riser. Broom has still yet to allow a HR in his pro career.

As I’ve said before, Tito or Tribe brass seem to like having a submariner in the pen. And why not, gives a totally different look.

Adam Cimber has been OK, but just OK. By contrast, he has given up 4 homers in 26 innings this year though.

He is locked up 4 more years. 3 years arbitration eligible.

Broom may allow him to be trade bait some time in the next 13 months. If he pitches well enough that someone will want him.

Broom is a sidearmer?
