Glad you liked them, Lou.
Zach Draper promoted to Lynchburg today.
Captains only team to play this evening, and it was Buck Night at Lake County tonight. Dogs, beer and sodas all night for a buck. They also gave their fans a win with a lot of offense.
Naylor 1-4, double, stolen base.
Freeman 2-3 with RBI and Run
Benson 0-2 but had 3 RBI. Don't see that every day.
Cardenas 3-5 with a triple, homer, and 3 RBI. Telling ya, this dude might be one to watch.

McKenzie just recently threw 2 innings in an extended spring training game in Arizona. So he should be getting back soon.
Karinchak just threw for the first time in Arizona since he was shut down with shoulder discomfort too.

To say Bobby Bradley is a no brainer to be called up is an understatement. Gee, we don't need anyone with power, right?

When Drennan was interviewing the Asst. GM Formen the other day he asked about Bradley. He said he was still working on his swing and cutting down on strikeouts. Guess they think he has some finishing work to do.

Perhaps concerned about the Jesus effect:

Eli Morgan just keeps trucking along. 6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, for Akron.

In Lake County Naylor was 2-2 with a walk and a home run. He's been heating up after horrible start. ... Freeman was 0-1 and had to leave game early. Have not heard anything yet. Hope it is not serious. ... Benson 0-1 with 2 walks. ... Cardenas 0-3.

Tyler Freeman was hit on the elbow by a pitch last night, and that is why he left the game. No word yet on severity, but I would assume since it was the elbow and not the hand or wrist that it is just a contusion and will be fine.
By the way, that is not the 17th time he has been hit by a pitch. Young fella likes to hang over the plate apparently.

Dug this up:
Indians C prospect Noah "Bo" Naylor went 2-for-2 with a homer and a walk for Low-A Lake County on Thursday.
It's the third homer of the season for Naylor.
The 19-year-old now has a five-game hitting streak, and he's hitting .344 over the last 10 games to help up his line to .234/.311/.377 over 47 games. A first-round pick in 2018, the brother of Josh Naylor shows plus power from the left side and a quality approach at the plate, and he should be able to stick behind the plate.
There's a lot of work that needs to be done here, but the offensive upside is palpable -- especially considering the premium position.

Clip Show had an offensive explosion last night, led by 2 more home runs by Bradley. Numbers 19 & 20 I think. ... Allen was 1-3 with a walk, Johnson had a double, and Thompson another homer too. ... Civale was decent. 5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K. ... Sandlin with a shutout inning of relief.
Hillman had similar line in Lynchburg. 5.2 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. ... Jones was 1-4 and Oscar with a rare o’fer.
Good news for Lake County as Tyler Freeman was back in lineup, as DH, though o’fer. ... Naylorand Cardenas had a double and Benson added his 17th home run.
And what I’ve been waiting for, the Scrappers kicked off their NYPL season, and with a win. ... Vargas 4 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K. ... Rocchio 0-4 ... Delgado 1-3 with a walk. ... And Valera was 2-4, both hits were doubles.

Mets acquired RHP Brooks Pounders from the Indians for cash.
The 28-year-old reliever has played the entire season thus far for Triple-A Columbus, registering a 2.31 ERA in 35 innings. He will presumably serve in a middle relief role for the Mets.

Akron was rained out, but nobody missed them.
Hillcats were slaughtered. ... OscarG 2-4 with a double.
Captains win. ... Freeman 1-5. ... Naylor 2-4 with a walk and a home run. He stays hot. Up to .240 now after horrendous start. ... Benson hit his 18th home run.
Scrappers lose. Rocchio 1-5 and a SB. ... Delgado 0-4 with a walk. ... Valera hit his first home run.

sorry I didn't ask for leave. Journeyed east and west and finally returned. Been following the box scores and have been pleased to see Naylor getting it in gear; Benson leading the MWL in homers and slugging and OPS, ready for Lynchburg test; Bradley still on fire; Civale looking good; excited about the depth of very young talent at Mahoning Valley. MILB rated the Scrappers the most exciting short season team in any league. And after Valera debuts with 2 doubles and then follows with a homer, he's going to be lots of fun to watch.
