Drury was a very nice utility guy back in his Arizona days though. Just last season .267 with 13 homers slugging .447. RH bat too who can play 2B and 3B.
He got screwed as a Yankee when 3B Aguilar and 2B Torres unexpectedly took off when called up. He was going to be the starter at 3B. (Neil Walker at 2B got the same treatment)
For Toronto, who are out of it, it's a nice package for a guy who is a FA after the season.

Well, if Luis Severino keeps pitching like he has of late (including by us) Yanks are going to need that stud bullpen.

You know when they're going to need it?
In that wildcard single elimination game they are seemingly headed for!

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick was told by a source familiar with the discussions that the odds are "55-45" that Adam Jones is traded between now and the deadline.
Crasnick adds that Jones has yet to be approached about the possibility of waiving his 10-and-5 rights. The Indians and Phillies have been connected to Jones, who "might want an extension or at least an assurance that he's part of the plan" rather than just a rental, some observers told Crasnick.
An impending free agent, Jones is batting .277/.304/.421 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI this season.

Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports that the Cubs, Rockies and Indians "retain interest" in Brad Brach.
All three teams have added relievers recently but it appears they might not be done. Brach has posted a disappointing 4.85 ERA and 38/19 K/BB ratio over 39 innings this season, but his track record suggests he could bounce back down the stretch as long as he's healthy.

Big bus load of Indians fans just showed up at MGM Detroit. Tribe will be well represented this weekend.
My wife made us plans with some of her family so I won’t be at game tonight.
Definitely tomorrow, and probably Sunday too.

Hmm, the team must be looking for bonus air conditioning at the Prog??
Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports that the Phillies and Indians are among the teams that have inquired on Rangers' slugger Joey Gallo.
While it doesn't sound like a deal is imminent, there's plenty of time for the Rangers to get something done before Tuesday's deadline if they so choose. The 24-year-old could be an attractive trade chip as he's under team control through the 2022 season and won't be arbitration-eligible until after the 2019 campaign. He's hitting .190/.306/.458 with 25 homers and 56 RBI in 99 games this season.

Gallo is not my kind of guy; but we need outfielders and I'll take whoever we can get.

IMO he is a corner outfielder only (actually just LF so far) so he doesn't fit what we need. Center field if we are going to get an outfielder.
And another bullpen arm. To me, that's the shopping list.

Indians' focus is on adding a center fielder. At this point, seems like a more likely option than adding a second baseman like Brian Dozier and shifting Jason Kipnis to the OF.

The Cleveland Indians will need some serious firepower to overcome the likes of the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and New York Yankees in the American League playoffs, and they have reportedly looked at Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper as a potential source of additional offense.
On Monday, Jon Paul Morosi of MLB.com reported the Indians and Nationals have discussed a trade involving Harper, although he granted the discussions have "no momentum."

Dozier at 2B would be a great pickup. That one's too good to be true.

Andrew Miller pitched a perfect inning tonight in Columbus. 1 K.
The play by play man for Clippers tweeted out that it was the best he's looked in rehab appearances there. No word on what his velocity was this time though.
Back to Bryce Harper for a second ... isn't he a free agent at years end?
Jon Morosi @jonmorosi
Source: #Indians, #Nats have been in contact regarding Bryce Harper, but Cleveland has thus far refused to include Shane Bieber in any offer. @MLB @MLBNetwork
Why would we give up a great looking pitching prospect for a rental we have zero chance of resigning? Screw that.

Pretty sure that was the Tribe's answer to the Nats.
