With Jose up the words were coming out of Manning's mouth...."you can't throw a fastball fast enough to get it by Jose" and he promptly smoked the fastball.

well we're still doing OK even though I've reposted them where they belong.

Except Kipnis just did something not so helpful, but I will report it appropriately

Lindor gets all the hype and attention but there's a guy out there that's become a pretty decent ballplayer.

Jose Ramirez has always had good offensive instincts and he has always been an exceptional defensive second baseman. What's really surprising, his defensive skills, depending on which web site you view, has propelled him into becoming the third or fourth best third baseman in the majors in only his second full season at the position. Can he become #1?

Lindor is rated as the second best shortstop in the majors. He can easily become #1. What a package we have on the left side of that infield! How long can we keep them together?

A few years ago, I thought that Lindor and Ramirez would make up the best keystone combination in all of baseball. I was disappointed when that never became a reality but who can argue with having the best third base - shortstop combination in the majors?

Something I just learned from Tom Withers of AP.

Our skipper, Tito was a good basketball player. Averaged 25 points a game in high school, and was recruited by some major universities like Arizona and Indiana. He still has his letter from Bobby Knight. Very interesting.

Andrew Miller - R - Indians
Andrew Miller (knee) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday.

Miller has been sidelined for the last two weeks with right knee inflammation. The next step for him hasn't been determined yet, but it doesn't appear he's too far off from a return.

Indians will recall RHP Adam Plutko to make Tuesday's start. Plutko will get the first crack to remain Cleveland's 5th starter over Bieber for the time being.

I just discovered that Evan Marshall is still on the team. He hasn't pitched since June 2. I assume he'll return to Columbus to make room for Plutko.

With 7 or 8 inning starts the bullpen depth has not had to be tested lately. It's only been Ramirez and Perez and Allen since last Sunday.
Josh Tomlin still holds onto the league lead with his 18 homeruns [in 36!] innings. Hasn't been out on the mound since a week ago yesterday. I'm happy for him to continue to get rest and relaxation even if it means he loses his lead.

Andrew Miller (knee) will throw another bullpen session on Monday.

Miller threw a 30-pitch bullpen in Detroit on Friday without any issues. If all goes well with Monday's session he could then be cleared for a minor league rehab assignment, if the Indians deem one necessary. The 33-year-old owns an uncharacteristic 4.40 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 14 1/3 innings with the Indians this season.

Last time he came off DL he talked the team out of a minor league assignment, but word is this time they are going to push him to do it so he can ease back into things better. And word is they may have him wear a brace on that right knee that keeps bothering him. To help cushion the blow of his violent delivery.
