As you know those bats can develop. Remember Lindor in the minors?

Zimmer has a high offensive ceiling but all those strikeouts are a worry. Allen has never been a power hitter and isn't really all that young, but he could be an Austin Jackson offensive player and that is just fine.
I should think of Brantley as a hitter who developed power that was unexpected too. So you're right there are possibilities.
The depth in the system is in the middle IF; if e.g. Chang doesn't make it, there's Castro. If Castro doesn't develop there's Jones. And Bracho, and Marcos Gonzalez.

Watching game on STO - fyi Antonetti is being talked to in the booth and he was pretty specific (surprisingly) saying Brantley is on track to be playing regular season games "at or near opening day".

About time
Another interesting part of the broadcast was the hitting instructor talking about small changes to Kip's hands this spring. Another launch angle guy?

Yandy has yet to make an "air out" this spring, of course it's another small sample size

Francona: Michael Brantley will face live pitching during this afternoon's workout. Salazar is getting closer to being cleared for a bullpen session.

Is Fox Sports Ohio broadcasting the tribe this year?

Tito is quoted at Indians.com saying Brian Barnes is right in the middle of the discussion with Upton and Davis for a RH OF position. Which means either:
A. Tito as always wants to create an all-positive approach and/or
B. He is not happy with Upton and Davis [Rajai followed up with 3 hits yesterday]
Barnes again went hitless and is now 1-20 for the spring with a dozen strikeouts.

Francona, on launch angle: "Kluber's throwing down and away. If you're trying to get the ball up in the air, then the next thing you should start thinking about is exit velocity. And that's how fast you're going to leave the batter's box and go back to the dugout."
