Remember that Nick Johnson has an out in his contract if he is not brought up by July 1.

Got to believe that one of Donald, Phelps, and Valbuena have to be moved in the next month.

That is a surplus of young utility infielders, isn't it? Especially we know we have to make room for Kipnis. Wait around for some team's starting 2nd baseman to get hurt and pounce.

If the Tribe brass has any notion of staying in the race this season, the Choo replacement needs to be seriously upgraded. Like now.
One thing everyone can see is that the Three Stooges approach isn't cutting it.

Not much out there right now.

I know it's The Show and not Little League, but I'd think about any guy in the minors swinging a good bat at any position and take a chance on his glove in right field. Guys that have made it to AA and AAA are certainly athletes that can adapt and make do.
Hey, Timmy Lupus played right field in the original Bad News Bears.
It's not an ideal solution, but it would make for a good story....

Problem is that swinging a good bat in AAA has never been a sure-fire predictor that the bat would also be swung well immediately in The Show.

They can't be much worse than The Stooges.
I'd rather give the chances to a kid than clench my teeth watching Kearns/Duncan/Buck. These 3 could be DFA with no tears shed from Montana.

Will the Tribe remain above .500 at the AS Break?
I wouldn't bet more than a cold PBR on it.

What is hard to see right now is the Tribe going on a prolonged winning streak. Too many holes in the lineup . And Fausto.

If Verlander stays healthy, it's hard to see the Tribe keeping pace with Detroit.

My only ray of hope at this point is Chisenhall hitting, and calling up Kipnis and he gets hot.
That kind of thing can be contagious.
However, I sure would prefer a deal for an established quality hitter.

As posted on one of the other forums, Chisenhall is unlikely to be a dynamic all-star hitter. If we get 270 and 10 homers from him for half a season we'll be fortunate. He could be a steady bat, but he's still raw. Kipnis is more complete hitter; about the same numbers vs LH and RH and can steal bases. Should be an above avg 2B as a hitter. IFIFIF Santana hits as he's supposed to the 3 of them along with Asdrubal and Brantley make a good core to which I think LaPorta can join and Hafner can supplement. Maybe

All it would take is a producing Hafner to ignite the lineup again. This interleague play ruins teams like the Indians and Red Sox.
Many sites predicted that Lee would shut out the weak hitting, injury plagued Red Sox last night.
