Brandon Guyer - OF - Indians
Brandon Guyer will undergo surgery on his ailing left wrist.
The exact nature of the procedure is not known. Guyer initially injured his wrist back in May and then aggravated the ailment in September.

I hereby withdraw any and all positive comments on Giovanny Urshela and suggest he is a nice AAA third baseman.

Hamilton also says the failure of the Indians to make the Skankees use their bullpen will set them up for the final game on Wednesday
That's my biggest worry for tomorrow. I think we can hit again. No reason to expect Kluber not to return to his normal brilliance. But if we get a little behind we're in trouble.

I didn't post last night cause I'm so pissed at Francona I can't see straight. He has totally screwed up this series and we are now in a position where Kluber has to bail us out, with what looks to be little offensive help. But good news is there could definitely be worse people to pin your hopes on than Corey Kluber.
I didn't have much problem with starting Bauer game 1 and Kluber 2. If we could have finished the series early in say 4 games, which going in I was pretty confident of, Kluber and Carrasco would have been set up to go 1-2 in ALCS.
But he started going wrong during game 2. He could have used Tomlin, Clevinger, or Salazar in bullpen that game but one of those guys should not have been used and saved to start game 4.
Since the Wild Card was instituted in 1995, 77 pitchers have started 121 playoff games on 3 days rest. Their combined record is 35-40 with a 4.35 ERA. You take out a couple studs like Kershaw and Schilling and the numbers get alot worse.
And just 9 times have the starters went 7+ innings. Tim Hudson went 7 innings in 2005, until Kershaw did that again in 2015 not a single SP had done it again.
Hell, Bauer went on 3 days rest in World Series last year gave up 3 runs in 4 innings and we lost game 3-2.
And I know a few of you guys really like Urshela so I won't rant too much about this. But this guy should never have been on the roster. Before season ended I said they should have put Kipnis back at 2nd and Jose at 3rd. Tito really screwed up not doing that.
Kipnis does not have the arm for CF. He totally cost us a run when Frazier tagged up. He was slow releasing the ball and does not have a strong arm. That's why he went to 2nd years ago. He also got a horrible jump on a shallow hit ball that cost us a base hit in the game.
If they were hell bent on not moving Jose back to 3rd they should have at least went with Yandy on the roster. Gonzalez plays the exact same positions as Urshela, middle infield better, and is a good runner. Yandy would have at least gave us a better option offensively in the starting lineup or off the bench. Urshela and Gonzalez both on roster was redundant.
You guys can have all the faith in Tito you want but he is human, and he is making huge mistakes. Now he needs Kluber to bail his ass out. I think he does. Kluber is stellar tonight.

IMO, the biggest mistake with the pitching staff was slotting Clevinger in the bullpen. He's proven to be an excellent starter, was it 1 ER in his last 4 starts total? He should've been the 4th game starter. Then in game 4 Tito used everyone in the pen, even Allen, so while NY bullpen is fully rested our guys have all been busy.

For a team that played loosey-goosey all year, the sphincter puckeritis that has shown up is unsettling.
This team is tighter than Wayne Newton's face.
Let's hope some home cookin' and x-lax can loosen these guys up.

Anyone remember MVP candidate Jose Ramirez? Where has he been?
I do hope we have EE back in the middle of the lineup. Brantley has been a pale shadow of a replacement.

As you can tell from my posts last night, I was VERY frustrated with the game! I felt that we needed to win one of those games in NY to take the series. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I don't see us winning tomorrow. The combination of EE's injury and Ramirez/Lindor going into slumps has doomed us. Hopefully, Urshela will be on the bench. And as I've said, Brantley should never have been on the roster. Counting on only Jay Bruce to provide offense is a poor plan.
I'm going to the game tomorrow, but may leave early unless we are winning. I don't want to be there with Skankee fans celebrating around me. At season's end, I really thought we were going back to the WS, but it sure doesn't seem that way now.

Lindor's grand slam counts as part of the offense! Getting as far as he we have with approximately no help [most of the season] from outfielders was pretty amazing; thanks of course to the offense we got from the middle infielders.

Where is Ramirez?? Where is Lindor? In my opinion, down the stretch the final two weeks, Tito gave Ramirez too much rest and didn't rest Lindor at all, maybe a few innings. If memory serves me correctly, Ramirez got about 4 or 5 days off + the 3 days between the end of the season and the beginning of the playoffs. That's a lot of time off. I think Tito over-managed this series. Tomlin, perhaps should have started game 4. Urshela's been a disappointment to me. The defensive stalwart is having a tough go of it. Hurry home Edwin (never thought I'd be thinking that).

Jose was resting an injured something, so the time off seemed to make sense and he hit some more doubles when he was in the regular season lineup.
I've always liked CC and even on the Yankees I hoped for good things for him, but NOT tomorrow.
