I honestly don't think Chisenhall is ready but, I am more than happy to be proven wrong.

I will still be discouraged if this team falls out of contention without a good attempt at acquiring a decent hitter via trade.

Of course I may never know if an effort is being made or not....so...

Heard Chris A say in his latest interview reguardless who they call about the teams ask about the availablity of the following players Kipnis, Phelps, Chisenhall and Pomeranz.

I dont disagree with the move. But Kipnis must feel like he is the ugly sister.

If the Tribe is a seller before the deadline, teams will be looking at their bullpen guys.

Lots of clubs would like to get their hands on a Tribe relief pitcher. No one you'd want to see them trade off the current roster of position players will bring back any help. Guys like OC might get you a so-so minor leaguer.

The only help coming is from within the system.

Alex White (finger) played long-toss at a distance of 75 feet Monday.
White just began his throwing program Friday, so he's still a few weeks away from beginning a minor league rehab assignment. The 22-year-old right-hander is currently on the 60-day DL with a strained ligament in his right index finger.

I would think that Talbot might be a trade chip near the deadline or before. I would also think that the Yankees might think that CC might be the calming influence that Carmona needs.

Chisenhall had had a great several games after coming off the DL last week, 6 bi one night, 5 another, with a couple homers, so the timing was good, but his hitting vs LH has been below 200.

Kipnis is more ready but where did we play him?

Phelps has 5 errors at 2nd base since coming up. He has always been slated to be a utility player at best.

Second base is wide open.

I'd accept the Cord for Jason switch. Do wish Kipnis were still an OF, however.

Wait, I just reminded the solution for lack of OF offense: Trevor Crowe! I forget what his injury and how long we must continue to suffer with our distinguished No. 1 draft choice and star of the future.

We sure don't need Manny now. He's a big chip in dragging the Dodgers into bankruptcy. And they owe him $21M.

I watched the Chisenhall interviews over at the PD site.

Kid is pretty smart and oozes confidence.

We shall see.

Shin-Soo Choo - OF - Indians

Shin-Soo Choo underwent surgery Tuesday on his fractured left thumb.
Choo suffered the fracture when he was struck in the hand last Friday by a Jonathan Sanchez pitch. The 28-year-old will be out until at least late August and could miss the entire rest of the season. He'll leave behind a .244/.333/.353 batting line, five home runs and 28 RBI.
