Jordan Bastian‏ @MLBastian

Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco are the 6th pair of teammates with 18+ wins and 220+ strikeouts in the same season.

Johnson-Schilling 2001-02 Dbacks
Ryan-Singer '73 Angels
Coleman-Lolich '71-72 Tigers
Bunning-Short '65 Phils
Drysdale-Koufax '63-64 Dodgers

Carrasco scheduled to throw 3 IP sim game during workout Tuesday. Might put him on target for ALDS Game 3. He has 2.65 ERA on road.

Francona, on Danny Salazar ALDS roster decision: "We can't forget what he was able to do the other day. That was there. That was real."

That's pretty good company to be in!

Michael Brantley has been activated from the DL!

He is not in starting lineup but I would guess he might get a pinch hit appearance tonight. We'll find out more from Andre Knott during pregame.

I'd love to see him in there, if he were healthy, but can we afford a roster spot for such a question mark?

Red Sox were up 5-0 over Houston, but the Astros are rallying in the 7th. David Price has been summoned from the bullpen.

Video of him running around the OF today on Twitter. Looked good.

Will it sprain again easily though?

And can he get his timing down at the plate in time to help us?

Have him take batting practice and pinch hit next two days. Then spend the few off days before game 1 facing live pitching from a couple guys who didn't make post season roster. Go from there.

Our magic number to clinch home field in AL playoffs is 1. Just need one win this weekend, or one loss by Houston.

When do the rosters for the ALDS have to be finalized?

Price got them out of the inning, then Mookie got a dinger to make it 6-2, Sox, bottom of 7th.

Kimbrel gives up a homer and a double, but is only one batter away from clinching home field advantage for the Indians.

Sox win! They clinch the division, and we clinch home field!

Gotta love that , but I love more that Boston and Houston have to face off in the first round while we get the wildcard winner.

I know they get at least a day or two to set the rosters. There'll be time to keep an eye on Chisenhall and Brantley.

Hamilton says Urshela is a cinch for the roster. Yandy maybe, although it seems pretty unlikely to doesn't make the roster unless they suddenly bring Kipnis back to 2nd and Jose to 3rd which is awfully doubtful by now.
I guess that means Urshela beat out Gonzalez for utility IF. I'm surprised, although Gio is a great 3rd, Gonzalez is no defensive slouch and far more experienced at short and second. Perhaps Tito is thinking the Utility job is mostly designed to provide a 3rd baseman for the final 3 innings of every game we're ahead in.

Tribe ends regular season with total attendance of 2,048,138. That's an increase of 456,471 from last year.
