Ok, I'm an asshole.

When you have the best team that I can remember, celebrating before you WIN the World Series is not for me.

Save the champagne.

AL Central Champions..... BFD !! They beat 4 other teams.

Celebrate when you beat 29 other teams.

Act like winning the AL Central was just part of the process in becoming WS Champs.

Go Tribe!

As far as I know, every team celebrates this way when they win their division.

Enjoy the ride. The tribe has the right to take a minute to celebrate an achievement that took 150 games to attain. Life is too short not to enjoy the successes a bit when they happen.

This team is very focused on details. It will not lose for want of discipline relative to the competition.

has anyone seen the record for wins with only one loss? I assume they've set the AL mark.

Michael Brantley received a second opinion on his right ankle sprain on Monday, the result of which has put his postseason availability further into question, the team announced on Wednesday.

Brantley met with Dr. Thomas Clanton in Vail, Colo., who confirmed that Brantley is dealing with a deltoid ligament sprain along with right ankle synovitis. This will keep Brantley shut down from all running activity for another seven to 10 days, while just 15 days remain until the start of the American League Division Series.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The chances of left fielder Michael Brantley being ready for the postseason, at least the ALDS that starts on Oct. 5, took another hit on Wednesday.

The Indians announced that Brantley received a second opinion on his injured right ankle from Dr. Thomas Clanton in Vail, Colo., on Monday. The doctor confirmed that Brantley is dealing with a deltoid ligament sprain along with right ankle synovitis. He will be shut down from all running activities for the next seven to 10 days.

He will be re-evaluated after that to see if he's ready for land-based running. Brantley has not played since Aug. 8. The Indians have 11 games left in the regular season.

If Brantley is unavailable for the postseason, it would mark the second year one of the Indians top players did not play in October. The Indians went to Game 7 of the World Series last year with Brantley watching from the bench because of surgery on his right shoulder.

Brantley was limited to 11 games last season, but this season he made a remarkable comeback. He played so well in the first half that he was one of five Indians named to the American League All-Star team.

However, Brantley continued to be bothered by injuries. After going on the paternity list on June 16, the Indians placed Brantley on the 10-day disabled list on June 19 with a sprained right ankle.

He was activated on June 26, but reinjured the ankle on Aug. 8 while backing up a routine fly ball to center field against the Rockies.

Brantley played 88 games this seaosn, hitting .299 (100-for-335) with 20 doubles, nine homers and 52 RBI. He stole 11 bases in 12 attempts.

The Indians will have a tough decision to make on Brantley after the postseason. Do they exercise his $11 million club option for 2018 or let him become a free agent? The club option contains a $1 million buyout.

The Tribe acquired Brantley as part of the CC Sabathia deal with Milwaukee in 2008. He has spent his whole big league career with the Tribe, making his first All-Star game in 2014. The same year Brantley finished third in the AL MVP voting by the BBWAA.

I'm not sure how long they have to renew the option, but I hope they do, unless it's clear he will never recover. But he does remind me more and more of Sizemore

Sizemore had elbow surgery, back injury, and microfracture knee surgery. Not sure a sprain and synovitis is comparable. But it does indeed suck we are approaching second straight postseason with him on shelf, I know.

I have a feeling he will be on roster, and if needed find himself in a pinch hitter roll if nothing else. I hope so any way. With a guy on 2nd and no outs or a guy on 3rd and 1 out, there is still nobody else on the team I'd rather have in the box.

Don't forget that Brantley had shoulder surgery last year. What I'm saying is that he may be injury prone, and not able to stay healthy for long, a la Sizemore. I certainly hope that's not the case, but we haven't done too badly in his absence.

Yeah I think the huge shoulder issue was a pretty large deal. Did amazing to recover like he did.

This one just bad luck. Couldn't be less related.

I think no doubt they extend him.

We have Brantley under contract through next season. Im not worrying about him yet. This offseason we have Santana, Bruce, Shaw, and Joe Smith to worry about.
