If the season ended today and it were still pre-division play as it was until 1969, the Indians would win the AL pennant, and play the Dodgers in the WS.

Mad Dog Russo interviewed Indians GM Mike Chernoff on MLB Network High Heat today. Good interview. Among many topics Chernoff said they are hoping to have Brantley back for a few games before playoffs.

Francona presser today ... says Miller feels good after last night. Plan is to pitch him again on Sunday. ... and plan right now is for Kipnis to return Sunday, in CF.

The Westgate in Las Vegas ... which, by the way, is a favorite of local gamblers. My wife has a cousin who lives in Vegas and loves sports betting, and he always frequents the Westgate ... anyway, the Westgate currently has the Indians as the favorite to win World Series. I think he said the were +250 ... might have been +350, can't remember for sure. I was half asleep at time. Graveyard shifts takes a toll.

What was Albert Belle's batting average the year he had 50 doubles and 50 Home Runs and was screwed out of the AL MVP?

One of the best seasons I ever saw.

Magic Number is 2 ... we can clinch division tomorrow.

One problem with the clinch, we play 3 hours before the Twins do today. The players would have to sit in clubhouse for quite a while waiting. And if we win and they lose the crowd will be long gone so fans wouldn't be able to partake.
Might be a good day to play a bunch of the kids and if we lose no biggie, go for clinch tomorrow in front of the crowd. Twins game starts an hour later tomorrow. But the problem with that is game tomorrow starts the same time as Browns game. Browns are on the road though.

Awesome, thanks for that HB. Noticed he said Kipnis likely on Sunday too.

I'm sure that's Tito's prime concern

Clinching the division was a foregone conclusion many moons ago.
Save the celebrations for the World Series victory.

I didn't say it was a concern of his. Just thought after going for this streak the players could use a physical and mental break. And in doing so might work out where fans and players could celebrate it right.
Geez....
What a snotty prick thing to post.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tito made a few less moves, and gave some more playing time to the youngsters, but that's b/c the streak is over, not because of the clinch. As SEAGULL points out, the main concern is getting to the WS and WINNING it!
Sorry to disagree, but I guess most people think of me as a snotty prick?
