Francona said today that Kipnis was getting close. And that he might get creative getting him back in lineup. Including CF.

I don't think he's ever coming back :(

Lefty v. lefty.
Andrew Miller and Jason Kipnis continue to work towards returning as they squared off in sim game action earlier today.

LOL on Kipnis in CF.

Wasn't that long ago we were discussing the problem of Jose Ramirez being best suited to 2B.

Poof we have Kipnis now to CF.

I assume Yandy for the most part at 3B so in effect Yandy in the lineup now and Zimmer out?? With improved defense up the middle.

Pays off to have the great depth this organization has built up.

Not sure I'd enjoy being Kipnis in that sim game facing Andrew Miller!

At least he wasn't "pulling a Kruk" vs Randy Johnson

Saw interview of Kipnis after batting practice. He was asked about the CF thing. He said if he were healthy and had been playing all year we wouldn't be having this discussion (I totally agree) but at same time he knows Jose and Gio have been making great plays and team is playing great so he just needs to see how he will fit in when he gets back.

What class. True team guy. A lot of guys would be like, listen you sumbitches, I'm a 2 time all star, I'll be playing 2nd base when I get back.

You guys are the experts but didn't Kipnis come up an outfielder? This really is the selfless type of thing that is typical of this team. Andrew Miller doesn't care about his role??? Sends a pretty strong message!

By the way, they are going over the Zimmer play on MLB Network. Probably was posted but I missed last night the fact that Chris Davis stepped right on his hand.

Kipnis played all 3 OF spots and 2B in college at ASU. But he's been strictly 2B in his pro career.

Well, doesn't matter much but he did play OF in 2009 in NYP league.

Oh, for some reason I didn't remember that. Well, that was short season rookie ball which he played right after being drafted, so had I said he hasn't played OF since the last year he was in college I wouldn't have been altogether wrong. Heh

I don't think it's a crazy experiment, seeing as they have things all clinched. Throw him out there.

Just posted a great article in that folder about current Indians win streak and its place in history. Don't say this often but recommended reading....

Jensen and Andre talking on pregame show. Kipnis took fly balls and grounders in CF today. Then stood in against Miller and drilled a ball that one hopped the fence and would have been a double in a game. Next pitch Miller blew high cheese by him.

Said Miller's stuff was back. Crisp big breaking slider and velocity on his fastball. Said his next time on mound might be in game.

Kipnis said he thinks he is ready to play but trainers have a couple more hurdles for him before he's cleared. I just hope it isn't actual hurdles. Might re-injure hammy.
