The other top-20 hitter in the AFL is Indians catcher Francisco Mejia, who'll get reps at third base with Glendale this fall to potentially increase his versatility so the Indians can get his bat into the lineup.

Jamie Moyer, now there's an example of a guy who pitched into his forties like that. Shoot he proved it can be done, and very successfully.

So happy to hear Greg Allen gets the call up. He has had a tough injury plagued year. This will be a nice boost for him.

You have to be on the MLB roster before September 1st to be eligible for playoff roster, correct? They may have wanted to do this now in case the injuries to OF'ers don't clear up by playoff time and have option to add him in case they want a good base runner late in game?
