TFIR:

But Plutko is rolling too, and more experienced. I posted this the other day, in case you missed it ...

.

Columbus Clippers RHP Adam Plutko over his last 4 starts:

- 25.2(IP) 12H 4R 4ER 4BB 22SO 1.59 ERA

Plutko after a disapointing 2017 season had off-season hip surgery and looks like he's getting back to his old form.

Lots of bad pitching on Tuesday, only win was by Columbus 10-6; the losing scores were 6-7; 0-9; 5-10

Lowlights on the mound:

Zach Plesac 4 2/3 10 8 8 1 6 5.81
Francisco Perez 3 10 9 9 4 4 7.00
Mitch Brown 2/3 2 1 1 0 1 HR first run of the year 0.90

Some OK pitching:
James Karinchak 2 1 0 0 2 1 0.79 20 k in 11 1/3 ERA At some point I assume he'll be stretched out to move into the rotation. Promising pick in last year's draft
Sean Brady 5 2/3 5 2 2 3 6 4.50

Papi double, 2 walks .286 OPS 925 Is he finally back to his pre-draft status?
Chang single and walk

Marabell single, double .29

HI A:
Capel 2 singles, 333
Carter and Longo 1 single apiece

as usual no pitchers. Getting the hint, I am hoping, the Indians will finally go for pitchers at the top of their draft this year. We have some terrific major league starters but need a lot more depth.

Indians Prospective @indiansPro

Interesting relief pitching prospect RHP Manuel Alvarez made his professional debut tonight for the Lake County Captains. Alvarez has been clocked at 100 mph during spring training. #Indians

Longo hit .327 in April and reached base in all 19 games he played in. He hit .288 overall, but batted .328 since being inserted into the leadoff spot in the order.

LHP Ben Krauth had a dominant April, striking out 23 batters in 12.1 IP. He had a 0.73 ERA and had the 2nd-most K’s in the league for a pitcher who had not started a game. BAA was just .053 against him in April, the lowest mark in the league.

Breakout LHP prospect Sam Hentges. 6'6'' frame w/ natural angle; advanced strikes/command of low-90s FB that t94; makings of avg-to-solid CB; CH needs work but projects as playable third. Turning scouts' heads early in 2018. See J.A. Happ type ceiling.

Mostly day games today. Columbus 5-3 winner. Mike Papi with HR #2. Eric Haase who has been consipicuously a singles hitter for a change this season, hit his 2nd triple. Mejia was 0-2. Chang 7th double and a walk. Jordan Milbrath rumored to be a hardthrower in the pen worked 2 1/3 3 1 1 1 2.

Bad day for Tully fans; 5 1/3 10 6 4 1 5 4.23
Good day for Mitch Longo fans, another 2 hit day, with his 7th double.
Wakamatsu's two errors give him 13; that tops his hit total of 10
Capel with a walk and nailed a runner at the plate

Lake County a winner, 5-2, behind Kirk McCarthy's best start, although still too many walks: 5 3 1 1 5 8 8.55
and better work by the second half of the piggyback team: Felix Tati 4 3 1 1 5 1.88
Austen Wade singled, doubled, walked twice, stole a base. He should be ahead of Benson and Jones since he's a college kid, 2 years older.
Jones and Benson both hitless, but Jones drew 3 walks, Benson 1. Jones is hitting 163 with 13 walks. Benson 192 with 18 walks, and those 5 homers.

Akron in action tonight. up 5-0 behind Shao-Ching Chiang who's a great night and a very good season: not know for strikeouts today he's 5 2/3 4 0 0 0 8
Connor Marabell single and homer [#2]. Hitting 319. OPS coming in the game was 903 and its up more with today's success.
