Andrew Miller activated off DL !

Almonte placed on DL with strained hammy.

A lot of calf and hammy problems this year.

IMO many are 10 day DL issues.

Hangnail = go to 10 day DL.

Ramirez took batting practice from both sides today and felt good. They are sitting him out one more game as a precaution. Honestly, it's probably for the best. Until the second game of DH'er yesterday Jose had played in 117 of 118 games. This is a tough stretch we are in, give him a break. Give Lindor a day off tomorrow.

Josh Tomlin - S - Indians

Josh Tomlin (hamstring) is expected to throw a simulated game on Monday.

That's provided that everything goes smoothly with his bullpen session on Friday. The veteran right-hander has been sidelined since the end of July due to left hamstring strain. Provided he can avoid any setbacks, he should be ready to rejoin the Indians' rotation in early September.

Kluber left tonights game after rolling his ankle. But postgame updates make it sound like it's a mild sprain. He may throw his bullpen this week and not even miss a turn. Why not go ahead and skip one turn. Keep that arm fresh. October will be here before we know it.

Cleveland Indians uncertain if Corey Kluber will make next scheduled start



KANSAS CITY, Mo. – It’s still unclear if Corey Kluber will make his next scheduled start after leaving Friday night’s game with a sprained right ankle in the sixth inning against the Royals.

Kluber told Indians trainers his ankle was stiff when he got out of bed Saturday morning.

“He’s a little stiff,” said manager Terry Francona, “which I think is normal. I think Klubes thinks he’ll make his start. I think the trainers think it’s 50-50. I guess the good part of that is, ‘OK, if he doesn’t start, and we make plans in case he’s not ready, maybe he gets backed up a day or two.'

“I think that’s probably the worst case scenario.”

Francona said whether or not Kluber starts Wednesday against Boston will depend on if he's able to throw his bullpen session on Sunday.

“He needs to start preparing for that start,” said Francona. “I think sometimes, if you can’t prepare for it, it probably behooves us to move him back a little bit and let him have a normal five-day cycle (to prepare for his start).”

Francona paused and told reporters, “Put behooves in there, OK? I used that in a (crossword) puzzle the other day. I’ve been playing Scrabble at night and it’s paying off.”

Michael Brantley - OF - Indians

Michael Brantley (ankle) has resumed some baseball activities but is still spending most of his time wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

Brantley has already missed nearly two weeks with what the Indians called a mildly sprained right ankle, but it doesn't sound like his return is imminent. Brandon Guyer and Austin Jackson will continue to share time in left field.

Jesus Aguilar hits two homers to lead Brewers

Jesus Aguilar clobbered a pair of home runs on Sunday, powering the Brewers to a 8-4 victory over the Rockies in Colorado.

Aguilar got the Brewers on the board with a solo shot off of Rockies' starter Kyle Freeland in the first inning. He then tagged Tyler Chatwood for a two-run shot in the seventh inning, increasing the Brewers' lead to 5-1. He finished the day 2-for-4 plus a walk and scored three times.

Aguilar is hitting .270/.338/.524 with 14 homers and 44 RBI on the season.

Again, not my kind of hitter, I didn't shed a tear when he left, but even I have to admit he's doing well. Good for him.

When I read that Tomlin is close to ready to return to active duty, it was the first I had thought of his existence since he went on the DL. I prefer Clevinger as our 5th starter, but Mike can be really really bad as well as really really good. So I suppose there may be some small benefit by Tomlin's return.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Indians placed left-hander Andrew Miller and right-hander Danny Salazar on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday. They recalled right-hander Shawn Armstrong and utility man Yandy Diaz from Class AAA Columbus to replace them.

Miller threw seven pitches in Monday night's game and left in the seventh inning. Salazar allowed 12 hits and six runs in 4 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Royals.

The Indians activated Miller on Friday after he made one rehab appearance with Class AAA Columbus. Miller was placed on the DL on Aug. 2 with tendinitis in the patella tendon after facing Boston the night before at Fenway Park.

Salazar came off the disabled list on July 22 after missing more than a month with a sore right elbow.

Indians placed RHP Danny Salazar on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 21, with right elbow inflammation.
This comes after Salazar was knocked around for six runs on 12 hits over 4 2/3 innings against the Royals on Sunday. It's unclear when he'll be ready to return, but it's obviously a troubling development with just a little over one month remaining in the regular season.
