Just saw today's lineup. Guyer is in but Brantley is not.

We are facing a lefty, but Chiz and Zim is in lineup. I'd trust Brantley before Chiz. Oh well, guess they figure give him one more day to rest that ankle since it's a lefty.

Kluber was named AL Player of the Week. That's 2 in a row for us as Jose was last week.

Wish it equaled more wins this week.

This guy is popular with press during pregame. He's going to get some new jewelry before game starts tonight too. One last Party tonight.

Even with EE swinging the bat about as bad as he possibly can the first several weeks of the season it still looks as if we made a great trade.

Mike Napoli ... .194 ... 14 HR ... 32 RBI ... 77 K

Encarnacion ... .261 ... 17 HR ... 40 RBI ... 72 K.

Is he the spark we don't have this season?

Indians activated Brantley, but felt he needed one more day of hard work before starting him. He'll be available off the bench Monday night.

Austin Jackson getting injured quad examined. If he has to go on DL, move will be made Tuesday.

Last two hitters in Texas lineup, No.8 Napoli and No.9 Gallo, have hit 14 and 19 homers, respectively.

Brandon Guyer, for a while, felt wrist injury would be season ending.

As we've talked about in the past, chemistry is more important in baseball than any other sports. These guys spend almost every day together for 7 or 8 months. And it is a tricky thing. Can't be judged by an analytic department. There may be something to that.

I'd still rather have EE's bat and try to get Kip or Brantley step up in that veteran role.

If I were Kluber I would go Albert Belle and destroy something in clubhouse. He is so soft spoken and reserve I think it would go a long way to waking some fellas up.

Wherever Napoli goes they usually compete. Same as Johny Gomes for a number of seasons.

Funny you mention Gomes. Tito said before game the team was lacking some toughness. That is something they miss in Napoli. And Gomes brought that to a clubhouse too.

This team needs a leader. Somehow Napoli brought out the leader in Kipnis. Seems to be missing this year. Whole team seems to be waiting for Encarcion to hit 6 run home runs.

Hmmmm....15 runs score since you posted that....18 hits, not a single HR.

I guess Roberto Perez is the leader.

Considering the $s paid, EE ought to be a better hitter than Nap

Francona questionable as Indians look for another win vs. Rangers

Jun 27, 2017 at 10:43a ET

CLEVELAND — It remains to be seen whether the Cleveland Indians will have manager Terry Francona in the dugout Tuesday night for the second game of their four-game series with the Texas Rangers.

Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on SportsTime Ohio

Francona had to leave the Monday night game in the fifth inning when he became ill. It was the second time in less than two weeks that Francona exited in the middle of a game because he wasn’t feeling well.

In a contest at Progressive Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 13, Francona stepped away when he was feeling lightheaded. He was taken to a hospital, where nothing serious was found. The episode was attributed to dehydration.

Francona didn’t have to go to the hospital Monday night. He checked out fine according to team medical personnel, but it was still an unsettling incident for the Indians.

“We’re always concerned when this happens,” said bench coach Brad Mills, who takes over as manager when Francona leaves. “It’s a genuine concern for me, for the staff and for the team. We’re just glad that the doctors checked him out, and hopefully we’ll know more tomorrow.”
