Francona: Salazar heading to Akron to work with Double-A pitching coach Tony Arnold. Minors pitching coordinator Ruben Niebla will help too.

Francona said Arnold and Salazar have a strong rapport. Team wants more eyes on Salazar, who will rest for a few days before throwing again.

Francona said Salazar had some swelling in right shoulder after his most recent relief outing. A few days off before next bullpen session.

sounds like a phony injury to me. Although I am sure some medical documentation is mandated so that teams cannot overly abuse the right to send a guy out for rehab who lacks minor league options.

You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find a starting pitcher that can throw a fastball for a strike.

Too many of them throw strikes right over the heart of the plate!

Francona says Edwin Encarnacion's right hip is bothering him. That's why he didn't play Tuesday and isn't in the lineup Wed.

OK, this team went to extra innings in game seven of the WS last season.
In the off-season, we added EE, who was supposed to be an upgrade over Napoli, got another relief pitcher in Boone Logan, and have Brantley back healthy.

SO WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO STINK UP THE JOINT?

Don't tell me that their current record is about what it is last year. We should be doing a lot better, not playing .500 ball with horrible games like the last 2 in Colorado.

Does anyone here feel like the 2017 team is a serious contender to make it back to the WS?

Like all pro sports, get yourself into the playoffs. Many teams are capable of winning it all. The team that gets hot, wins.

This is a good team. They will grind it out and get to the playoffs.

The Cavs got themselves in the playoffs again, but I have little faith of them getting hot v. the Warriors.

You have to look at bright side. We can't possibly play worse and we're still only a game or two out of 1st place in division.

Thank goodness we're not in the west.

You could say the same for the Cavs. I don't hold out much hope for them, either.

Even if we win the division, can we get past the Red Sox, Skankees, and Astros?

We've beat the Astros 5 out of 6 games this year, and we're not even firing on all cylinders yet. So yes.
