Lynchburg is playing early today and just about to begin. McKenzie is on the mound.

Let's see him bounce back from one of his very few bad performances

Maybe McKenzie has "hit the wall" with his inning total over 100. He was rocked again today, second time straight, 6 runs in the first 2 innings. 3 scoreless after that. Only 2 K. Not a great way to celebrate his 20th birthday.
His teammates are keeping it close; Andrew Calica who looked great last summer and not to this year, has a single and a double and two walks. Willi Castro a pair of singles; Loopstock has drawn a pair of walks in 3 trips to the plate; from May to date he's walked 42 times, about once every 7.5 times to the plate.

Nothing else happened in the Lynchburg game, other than Willi Casto's third single. He's hitting a fine 294, he doesn't walk a lot [23 times, which is still a big increase over his past seasons, never reached 20], his OBP is an OK not great 343. He's slugging 426 with 18 doubles, 3 triples and 8 homeruns: that's one more homer than in full 2016 when he had 21 doubles and 8 triples.. Not an effective basestealer, he's 13 for 22 this season which is about on par for him

And I did claim Castro too - and Erik Gonzalez just in case.
Have you tried for Will Cordero?

Hillbilly wrote:TFIR ... I guarantee you that you made an absolute steal in Yandy. As Civ can tell you, he's a fave of mine. He is going to be a professional hitter type that I know you respect. He's patient, draws walks, high OBP guy. Hits for average. Not a ton of power. Think Brantley type hitter. Which is odd considering he has biceps the size of cantaloupes... LOL
See if you can nab Greg Allen too. His numbers aren't eye popping this year cause he missed quite a bit of time with an injury. But he's going to be an every day lead off hitter in the majors, IMO. 280 type switch hitter, good OBP, steals bases, gap power. He could be a steal for you too cause his numbers are nothing this year. But last year between High A and AA he hit .295 with a .416 OBP. 23 db, 7 tp, 7 HR, and 45 SB's.
Mejia, Yandy and Allen are my three favorite hitting prospects. Willi Castro is a prospect too, IMO. Need to see him at AA before I get too excited though.
Whatever happened to Rob Kaminsky?

TFIR:
That is a huge organizational secret. His first start of the year in April he was smacked around. Then he was placed on the 7 Day DL with "forearm tightness". He has been in Arizona recovering ever since.
Your guess is as good as mine.

I read that Chiang has been promoted to Akron. I guess pitching no hitters can be good for ones career.

Good, now Chang and Chiang will be on the same team.

At least one pitches and the other is in field or else I'm sure it would trip me up at some point. I already caught myself mixing up high draft pick Johnothan Rodriguez with some young catcher in our system named Rodriguez a month or so ago.

Perhaps MLB should put a limit on players with same last names in a single organization. We've long had RRod, LRod, and NRod. All these JRods make it much more confusing.

By the way, I posted a link at the end of the Clippers run down above and forgot to mention, it is a link to the video of Naquin's homer. Although the cameraman sucked and you couldn't see it, I read first hand accounts on Twitter that it hit off the top of the big scoreboard in right-center.

I'll take him back. Especially if he can pitch in relief.
