I have the Kuiper and Krukow and the 2 other guys on The Giants postgame booth talk. Once more it is raining in tremendously unseasonal fashion here and it's expected to rain steadily through the weekend.

Again, it is very rare for any rain to fall here during baseball season.

Krukow remarked that the grounds crew was putting the tarp on the field after the game, something that is rarely done. Kuiper cracked the grounds crew has to look at the instructions whenever they roll the thing out.

The kid named Brandon Crawford up now for The Giants was two years ahead on my daughter in her high school. He's the kid who had a grand slam about a week ago in his Major League debut.

Tonight he had an RBI double, and to top it off his family was in attendance and his Mom snagged a foul ball in the stands. She teaches elementary school down the street. His family has had Giants season tickets for a few years and Brandon Crawford attended Pac Bell Park games as a kid.

Tribe is looking like they are headed for a June Swoon right out of the division lead by July.

Acta is running short on ideas.

"You just have to be patient," Acta said. "You continue to work. Our coaches work really hard with these guys. We prepare them the best way we can. Then, after that, you have to be patient and just continue to stay positive with them and wait until a couple of them get hot.

"There's only so many combinations of lineups that you can do when you only have a couple of guys swinging the bat well. Bugs Bunny is a cartoon. I can't hit Brantley and [Asdrubal] Cabrera in every spot -- only in two."

Translation - it's the players, not the manager. When they are going good OR bad....

Speaking of managers, Seattle's Mr. Wedge sure is riding a great wave right around now!

If'n you look at the combination of Hafner and Sizemore this year, they combine to produce about 2.15 runs per game. I haven't tried to analyzed the effect on those batters hitting around them, but I can probably guarentee that their replacements have not produced the same average per game.

Obviously we need them back, healthy, and producing as they have been this year.

Nick Johnson at Progressive Field with a locker. He's number 25.

Thome's old number (and Vic Davalillo's.) Let's hope he hits like Thome, and not like Vic after he got hit.

I'm getting a little tired of Shelley Duncan and his "grip it and rip it style."

Our announcers the other night were touting him on his "never gets cheated on a swing."

He's been up 81 times and has two dingers and six doubles. And 21 K's.

He's had his hot streak for the year, and I do not see him improving in 2011.

Yes, his Dad was briefly an Indian, but he was a freakin' hair down the back .200 hittin' hippie in those days.

I could take a hippie that could hit maybe .250 with good RBI's.
