Wow ....

Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez died in a boating accident, the team announced Sunday morning, according to Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife spokesman told Andy Slater of 940 AM WINZ that Fernandez's boat hit rocks going full speed and flew some 30 feet in the air before landing upside down. They added that one victim was found in the water, while the other two were under the boat.

Looks like the Browns should be looking into hiring Bobby Gould who was released by the Bears. He can still kick.

Seven regular season games left — Let’s see our Postseason scenarios

The Cleveland Indians finished play on Sunday with a 7-game lead over the Tigers with 7 games to go, and a magic number – combination of Tribe wins and Detroit losses – of ONE. Despite the Tribe’s loss to Chicago, Kansas City’s win over Detroit lowered the magic number to just one.

Here’s how the teams’ schedules shake out:

Cleveland: 4 @ DET, 3 @ KC

Detroit: 4 vs. CLE, 3 @ ATL

As we open a four-game set with Detroit, any Tribe victory will clinch the 2016 AL Central crown.

There is also the matter of home-field advantage throughout the AL Postseason, for which the Indians are one and a half games behind both the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers. If the Tribe earns the AL’s best record, the club would have home-field advantage throughout the Postseason (AL won the All-Star Game, and thus the AL rep in the World Series would have home field).

Owning the top record also would mean the Tribe would play the Wild Card Game winner (currently either Toronto or Baltimore) and not either Texas or Boston, depending on final records.

A look at Boston and Texas’ schedules as we hit the final stretch:

Texas
– 9/26-9/28: vs. Brewers in Arlington, TX
– 9/30-10/2: vs. Rays in Arlington, TX

Boston
-9/27-9/29: at Yankees in New York, NY
-9/30-10/2: vs. Blue Jays in Boston, MA

Should be a fun one to watch play out!

Over his last 4 games and 3 starts Josh Tomlin has a 1.47 ERA in 18 IP.

What a huge help that would be if he could continue that during playoffs.

Kluber is out 7 to 10 days. I think I heard a mild strain of groin and quad.

Does that mean mean he would miss his first start in the playoffs?
