It's not pessimism it's pragmatic. I don't think we can't not win. I just look at all the factors surrounding our inevitable playoff appearance and wonder if we have the tools to beat the teams we haven't been able to beat in the regular season.
Not like I don't wear my Tribe hat every day and my Party at Napolis or Kipnis for President shirt as much as my wife will let me between washes, or watch Every Single Game since well before the season started.
I am going to take my kids out of school, and take off work to go to a playoff game. I just hope to god they win.

Can Jose catch?
I have a feeling that Lucroy is going to haunt us the next couple of years.
I wonder if the front office isn't kicking themselves in the ass right about now.
Was Gomes really worthy of a guaranteed catching job next year??
I don't know about you, but if I were to guarantee that job, I wouldn't have had second thoughts.
Another playoff season is near at hand and as in the past we fail to make the necessary moves to improve the offense.
Miller was a nice addition, maybe we can move him back into a starting job (to replace Carrasco) like the Cubs have done with Montgomery.
I love undrafted free agents!
We have to go back to the late 1800's to accomplish what our relief corps did tonight.
I love munchkins
Have we figured out who's going to replace Almonte yet?
Ramirez for President

Regarding joez's post. I, for one, tire of the complaining about "fixing the offense".
http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/st ... order/true
Feel free to click on the RUNS category when you get there. After all, isn't runs scored the bottom line?
So the Cleveland Indians are 4th in the major leagues (all the majors, not the AL) in runs scored. 4th out of 30.
So complaining about the offense is completely, totally ignoring what this team has done over the course of the year. You may not like the names, but so what? Bottom line is that this team got the job done. Really, really well.
Right now their only, only problem is Salazar and Carrasco. Period.
Great season. They blow out the division, MINUS Brantley!!!!

The Indians were near the top in every category offensively EXCEPT home runs.
In other words, they scramble to score runs in general. With Tito employing NL type tactics.
That's good stuff in the playoffs.

I think I saw Hillbilly in yesterday's game! Or it was a Hillbilly look alike. Only thing is, he was not holding a beer.

Hey! I hope you guys are right about the offense.
As they say, the playoffs are are brand new ballgame.
This offense won't be seeing any 4th and 5th starting pitchers. We'll be facing the best the opposition has to offer.
No Almonte who has been instrumental in the success we've had on offense this season. In fact, he's still in the lineup and playing today. If Francona doesn't want to replace Almonte now for this playoff push, who's Francona going to replace him with come post season? Shouldn't that person be getting some quality time in today and to the completion of the season?
Chisenhall's and Naquin's production have dropped off since the all star break.
Guyer and Crisp???
Perez and Gimenez???
In the playoffs, pitching is the name of the game.
We enter minus Salazar and Carrasco. Inconsistency has been Bauer's calling card. I don't think I would like to see Tomlin as our #2 to start the playoffs.
Yeah! I have my concerns for the offense, especially under these conditions.
The name of the game is still scoring more runs than the other guys.

Long time Tribe writer Paul Hoynes gets attention of club.
Hoynes wrote on Cleveland.com that the Tribe post season dreams of advancing past a round ended on September 17 when stud pitcher Carlos Carrasco was injured and finished for the season. Indians manager, coaches, and players responded by saying if that is the way you feel then stay away from the park and report on us from your home.

The Cleveland Indians are seven games in front of the Detroit Tigers in their division and own the second best record in the American League.
The Tribe is so hot right now, they’re a couple of weeks away from capturing their first Central crown since 2007…but apparently that’s not enough for some Cleveland writers.
“Write it down,” Indians beat writer Paul Hoynes wrote Sunday. “On September 17, the Indians were eliminated from serious postseason advancement before they even got there.”
As you can imagine, Hoynes’ pessimism didn’t go over well among Indians fans, or in the team’s locker room.
Ouch.
The longtime Plain Dealer scribe was commenting on the spate of injuries to hit the team in the past two weeks. Since September 9, they’ve lost Danny Salazar and Yan Gomes. Saturday, pitcher Carlos Carrasco was knocked out after throwing just two pitches.
Over reaction on Hoynes part? Perhaps. But, you’ve got a team gunning to finished with its best record this side of the Willennium…why so sour?
