Roberto Perez has an OPS of 675 in his last 30 games; 785 over his last 15. Who needs Jonathan Lucroy. And we keep a bevy of good prospects in the bargain.

Opportunity to watch the Columbus bullpen last night and the rest of the month will give the team the chance to clear some spots on the 40-man roster. Austin Adams continues to unimpress on a very regular basis. Hard thrower is 30 now and getting worse each look he gets. Colon and Garner are longshots to have it made it this far and have been hot and cold. Armstrong is inconsistent but not yet worn out his welcome. Crockett is much less impressive than his debut season. Merritt will never be better than a Lefty Tomlin but hard-worker will be given more opportunities.

Don't know if anyone is catching the first 2 days of Nick Swisher being on MLB Network.
One of the segments they talked about the Tribe and asked Swisher what he thought was the main reason the team was so good this year.
He had a one word answer.
Francona

Swisher was largely correct. But he could also have included "No Swisher"

Yan Gomes was hit on the right hand during a rehab assignment with Double-A Akron on Wednesday, Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer reports.
Gomes was expected to rejoin the Indians on Friday but Hoynes indicates that his return could be pushed back pending the results of tests on his hand. The team should provide another update on his status when the results are returned.

Amazing schedule for 2017: the first week they play on the road in warm weather cities. Did MLB finally hire a genius to do scheduling?

I saw that, should cut the rescheduled games in half for next year.

Don't forget that it was mid-April when they had to move a series to Milwaukee.
