Dominican defeated Curacao 6-2 and complicates Venezuela

The Dominican team has a record of 4-3 and is one step away from the semifinals

By GERARDO JAVIER ROMERO

FEBRUARY 8, 2023

The Tigres del Licey of the Dominican Republic achieved an important 6-2 victory against the Curaçao team to get within one step away from the semifinals.

With this victory, the Dominican team complicates the Leones del Caracas and forces them to win against the Vaqueros de Montería of Colombia later this evening.

Emilio Bonifacio became the most important figure for the Lions after going 3-4 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Domingo Robles was left with the victory after pitching for five innings in which he allowed three hits, one run and struck out two opponents.

The loser of this game was the Venezuelan Néstor Molina who was Curaçao last hope to take a victory as he was the ace of the rotation. The criollo pitched 6.1 innings and gave up 8 hits and four runs.

The classification of the Dominican Republic depends on the game between Colombia and Venezuela; The Dominican Republic needs a Columbia victory to continue on their way to the title.
