Will the two Series be tied tonight or will the Series be over ??

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Will the two Series be tied tonight or will the Series be over ?? These are the possible scenarios when the winter league postseason enters its fourth round of the semifinal series.

The Indios de Mayagüez (2-1) and Cangrejeros de Santurce (2-1) are halfway to becoming finalists in the tournament, while the Criollos de Caguas (1-2) and Gigantes The Carolinas (1-2) must win tonight to even the series and spark a game six next Saturday.

Last night, the Indios dominated the Cangrejeros with a final result of 6-1.

The Criollos defeated the Gigantes in 12 innings with a score of 4-3.

Johnathan Rodriguez (LF Carolina)
AB 4, R 0, H 1, RBI 0, BB 0, K 2, LOB 2 AVG .375

Rodriguez grounded into a 5-4-3 double play in the first, struck out in the fourth, struck out in the sixth, singled to right in the ninth.

The Mayagüezans had the best offensive luck of the day with Blaine Crim batting for 2-4 with two RBIs, one scored and a walk. From the mound, Daryl Thompson pitched a seven-inning gem where 63 of his 100 pitches were strikes, giving way to three singles, an unearned run and seven strikeouts.

The Carolina Giants will bring lefty Jonathan Bermudez to the mound who has pitched in relief in two of the three games in the postseason series with a 1.2 innings with one hit and two strikeouts.

Estrellas and Licey just a game away from the final series only need a win to advance

The round robin that in its first 12 dates had been the closest and most unpredictable in history (there were five quadruple ties in one, three, four, five and six wins and losses for each team) can end this Wednesday.

Simply, Águilas and Gigantes have no margin for defeat and Estrellas and Licey just need a win in three games to seal their ticket.

Eagles and Giants with sweat on their necks", but one with the possibility of advancing

Águilas Cibaeñas and Gigantes del Cibao have a chance to advance to the final round of winter ball .

Only one of them has a chance to fight for a ticket to the final round of the tournament.

Tigres del Licey and Estrellas Orientales are leading the standings.

Licey 9-6, Estrellas 9-6, Cibaenas 6-9, Cibao 6-9.

For pointers, the magic number is one. The possibility for the Cibao teams to advance will be that Licey and Estrellas, (one of the two), lose the three remaining games and Gigantes or Águilas, win their three games.

According to the Lidom regulations, if there is a tie for the second position between two teams, an extra game will be played which starts at the venue of the one who has won the particular series or for the best Earned Run Average.

The winner of that game meets the first place winner in the best-of-seven semifinal.

Hey Joe,

Are any of these Winter Leagues playing with the new MLB rules going into effect for the 2023 season?

Bigger bases? Fielder positioning? time clocks? Pick off limits?

They are not Seagull. The new rules probably won't take effect until next year, If then. I think each league would have to have their own vote process for rules changes.
