Continuity for continuity's sake is worth nothing. Maybe we can draft Danny Peoples again.

Hope he takes Antonetti with him. Start over with some new blood.
I'm thinking that would be the end of Francona in that case. And I do not want that.

Pluto says if Shapiro leaves that Antonetti would stay.
Indians acquired Texas Rangers OF prospect Michael Choice for cash. Choice was the 10th overall pick in the draft in 2010.
Cody Anderson will make a rehab appearance for Lake County this Monday.

Just looking at a recent picture of Mark Shapiro. He looks so skinny compared to what he looked like when I was going to ST in Winterhaven. He was a body builder then.
See what happens when you take away the juice.

We are within 4.5 games of the 2nd place Twins. We will never catch the Royals, but we could end up in 2nd. Detroit and Chicago are total messes, and the Twinkies have some health issues. If that could happen, even if we are in 2nd place as 81 - 81, it think that would be a great finish to they year.
Lets pull for 2nd.

does anyone have second thoughts on the big deal with the Braves now that Swisher has hit two homers in one game and 5 hits over the last 2? Not me.

I thought that Lindor's career was likely to run like Omar's: start out as a great field, no hit SS and then gradually develop some offense.
Wrong.
Lindor just whacked his 7th homer yesterday; in 274 plate appearances. At age 21 3/4.
Vizquel didn't hit the majors until he was 22. He finished his 6th season with the same 7 homers. By then he was age 27 and had 2677 plat appearances. Lindor got there in 1/10 of the time.

A couple nearly identical terrible starts by Akron pitchers the last two days:
Adam Plutko 5--9--6--6--2--6
Morimando 5 1/3-10-6-6-2-4
Some unreported by BA good hitting:
Paulino single, double, walk, but a caught stealing avg: 306 ops: 923
Greg Allen double and hit by a pitch
Santander single and 3 rbi

I"m happy for him. And happy for us. That had to end.

Nice of the Indians to give Jerry Sands the Big Opportunity he has been waiting for. And he's come through in not quite flying colors, 180/208/280 since he's become a semi-regular.

Roberto Perez, surprisingly, does not rap a two-run single to give the Tribe the lead.
Now McAllister is on and I'll return to my prior neglect of the proceedings.

Lindor has 274 PA's already? Holy smokes, where has the summer gone?

I had to triple-check that Lindor at bat total. It still seems kind of startling.
Unfortunately Correa is hitting even better. Otherwise Lindor could have a shot at ROY
