Civ- I wish, but that is not the way the FO works. First we get Naquin to run the gauntlet, then Aguilar is tried in the OF or 2B, then Walters, Ramsey and Holt get their dues to try and prove the pickups were great. After all that.............your scenario might work.

Maybe. but since Holt was a lowish round draftee he won't have to get a long trial. And Walters is on his second tour of duty and seems to be getting worse. Yes, they will waste some time with Naquin in centerfield but I think Zimmer's path to RF will be pretty wide open. They've been moving him up pretty aggressively.

It's been so long already, I can't remember who we got for whom in our deadline trades two weeks ago.

I know the names in the 2 of our bums for 1 of your bums deal with the Braves.

We traded Murphy to LAA for [is that where we got Eric Stamets the AA shortstop we can' get close to the Mendoza line?]
We traded to Moss somewhere. Is that where we picked up Kommisnki the lefty with upside
We traded Rpzcynski somewhere else. No idea who we got in that deal Or did we just get rid of his salary?

Your assistance will be kindly appreciated.

[I realize I can look it up, but just testing your collectively memory. I can recall details of trades throughout the 60s with no problems, but not those from two weeks ago.]

Why you say RF for Zimmer?

Because he's rated as having the "best OF arm" in his league. But it's OK with me if he's in center. I'll let those who know decide which of Zimmer and Frazier gets center and which gets right. I look forward eagerly to both of them sharing the outfield with Brantley. Power and speed and defense at all three positions. Even if Urshela's offense doesn't come along I think a slightly sub-avg hitter at 3rd is OK with the rest of the offense this team should have and great defense on the left side of the infield will be a great advantage.

Why I did decide to get so optimistic? Not my nature. I guess I should be worrying about the lack of starting pitching depth behind the current Big Four. Although Plutko could be a decent No. 5 option; and maybe Clevinger and maybe Merritt and maybe Morimando and a couple years later Sheffield and Aiken and McKenzie and Hillman.

Boy is this team deep!

Rpzcynski got us Almonte I think.

Zep was good for awhile. I'd be surprised if Almonte gives us equal duration of service, but he's a lot of cheaper and has helped win a few games here while the Tribe Surges Back into Wild Card Contention. [do we?]

Sound reasoning.

Frazier has this new found plate discipline which has me rooting for him now, but guess there's still part of me not convinced he will be an every day major leaguer. But if they both make it I can see why you would do it that way.

Regardless, Zimmer will beat him to the show so he will at least start off in CF.

Tomlin is going to get the 5th spot start this weekend.

Reports are his velocity has not returned to where it was before surgery. And it was never great to begin with. Could be ugly.

that's the very easy way to fill the roster spot. To bring in Marcum, who is a marginal major leaguer at this point over Tomlin who is not, they'd had to DFA someone. They have several reasonable options for that: Tomlin of course of them himself; also Carlos Moncrief who has been demoted back to Akron after an awful second go round in Columbus. I suppose they expect Anderson back by the time of the next start for the 5th starter, so why dump someone, but the way Anderson was pitching there's no great improvement coming from him either.

I would be happy if Tomlin is let loose.

How come this team forgot how to draft for the last 20 years? Or did Danny Peoples the ultimate signability pick become the model?
