Toru Murata, unimpressive 26-year-old Japanese pitcher toiling away in Kinston, leaves the game in the first inning, injured I guess. Not a major loss for the Indians' pitching. Absence of Pomeranz for 10 days is much more siginficant.

Lonnie with his 13th double and Gomez with a 4 inning no hitter, Clips lead 1-0

delaCruz still can't master his control. 4 walks and 4 strikeouts and 4 hits and 2 run in 5 2/3. Jordan Henry with his 16th steal. Karexon Sanchez has a dreadful April, OPS 314. In May he's almost tripled that to an 890.

Kinston just scored 3 to grad a 5-2 lead in the 5th. Greenwell 2 hits. Abrahm Hr #6. Delvi Cid is only batting 104 but he drew 2 walks and stole his 3rd base; he's way behind on his steal tally this year since he missed a month, and rarely gets on base.
25-year-old RH reliever with 4 perfect innings of relief, fans 4.

Captains complete a rain-delayed game with a 3-1 win. Alex Lavisky with HR #4. Several-year-ago 2nd rounder Trey Haley with his first professional save, 2 inning scoreless and walkless, 2 hits and 3 K. Tribe coaches have done something to change his pitching style; now working as a reliever his walk total is way, way down.

I thought Steven Wright had escaped Lake County and was working in Columbus. But he returned to Eastlake for the nightcap and survived a remarkably badly played 2nd inning, as West Michigan scored 5 runs on 1 double, 2 hit batters and 3 infield errors. Before the double it was 4 runs on no hits.
West Michigan Top of the 2nd
James Robbins reaches on fielding error by second baseman Nick Bartolone.
Billy Nowlin hit by pitch. James Robbins to 2nd.
Steven Moya flies out to center fielder LeVon Washington. James Robbins to 3rd. Billy Nowlin to 2nd.
Jeff Rowland hit by pitch.
Jimmy Gulliver reaches on force attempt, throwing error by first baseman Jesus Aguilar. James Robbins scores. Billy Nowlin scores. Jeff Rowland to 3rd. Jimmy Gulliver to 2nd.
Luis Castillo out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Anthony Gallas. Jeff Rowland scores. Jimmy Gulliver to 3rd.
Hernan Perez reaches on throwing error by third baseman Giovanny Urshela. Jimmy Gulliver scores. Hernan Perez to 3rd.
Robert Brantly doubles (10) on a fly ball to right fielder Carlos Moncrief. Hernan Perez scores.
Nick Castellanos called out on strikes.

My future HOF Giovanny Urshela made his 9th error and is batting about 220. maybe I was wrong, yet again. Of course he's very young so I can give him time to develop.

Columbus goes down 2-1 in 13. Germano proves no more effective in AAA than he did in the majors. Hagadone with 4 Ks in 2 innings. Something tells me we'll be seeing him in Cleveland before the end of the year:

Not a good day for our farm teams in extra innings. Aeros go down 3-2 in 10:

Guys tribe said nothing wrong with Pomeranz just skipping a start to manage innings this year. More importantly, where is Knapp?

This is a forum post by Lastoria a few weeks ago regarding Knapp:
He is fine. Is in extended spring training in order to monitor his workload this year since he threw just 28 innings last year. Can only throw somewhere around 80-100 innings this year, so delaying the start to his season. Very restricted this year to build him back up.

Are there any bats down here that can help the big club this season?
