His three-year slash line stands at .254/.340/.504, good for a 135 OPS+, with Moss contributing 76 home runs over 1,381 plate appearances.
His line has gotten progressively worse over those three years. It appears that the more he plays the worse he does; perhaps Francona can restrict his playing time to situations when he's likely to be most productive, as the additional at bats from year to year since 2012 have resulted in negligible additional production.

2012: 265 AB 77 hits .291/.358./.596
2013: 446 AB 114 hits .256/.337/.522 [181 additional AB, 37 additional hits that equals .204 average]
2014: 500 AB 117 hits .234/.334/.438 [54 additional AB, 3 additional hits, that equals .046 average]

He is not an everyday player.

Aren't there Winter Meetings next week? We may know something soon.
That could be true. At the same time Oakland had to at least approach Cleveland when they were offering a RH power hitting strong defensive 3rd baseman with a reasonable contract. Oakland had to see if it could get Lindor, Ramirez, or maybe even Kipnis.

Based on what the Tribe offered it must have intrigued Oakland enough to say, hey how about this Moss guy ?

ESPN's Jayson Stark was told that the A's are planning to trade Brandon Moss this winter.
John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reported Wednesday that the Indians have expressed interest, but they won't be alone in trying to acquire the 31-year-old first baseman and corner outfielder. Moss was slowed in 2014 by a hip injury, but he had it surgically-repaired in October and still boasts an .844 OPS in 376 games since the beginning of the 2012 season. Power is a rare commodity right now.

Indians have done a hell of a lot better in trades then they have drafting.

Was told last night by one exec, with no hesitation, that the A's are "GOING to trade Brandon Moss." So #Indians rumblings make total sense

#Indians guardedly optimistic that trade for Oakland's Brandon Moss will get done. Timetable to be determined.
