No shock that some of my faves make this list ...

@tpaquette_IID: #Indians Milb leaders (BB%)

1) Mike Papi 16.4%
2) Carlos Moncrief 15.0%
3) Yandy Diaz 14.3%
4) Taylor Murphy 13.6%
5) Clint Frazier 12%

Then there's this ...

@tpaquette_IID: AZL #Indians OF Gabriel Mejia (34) straight game on-base streak ended tonight.

52-132 32R 6(2B) 1(3B) 14RBI 18BB 31SB .394 AVG .471 OBP

Baseball America's annual "best tools" report. We do well.

International League: Not surprisingly, Lindor is best defensive SS. Surprisingly Aguilar is best defensive 1b. And Lindor wins the grand prize: "Most Exciting Player"

Eastern League: Before he became a power hitter, Yandy Diaz already was selected for "Best Strikezone Judgment" and best defensive 3b. Erik Gonzalez, not in AAA, won for "best IF arm"

Carolina League, where we dominate the offense, Zimmer selected as "Best Batting Prospect" Nellie Rod as "Best Power Prospect" Zimmer also "Best OF Arm" which results in Brad being another "Most Exciting Player"

In the Midwest League, Greg Allen selected as Best Baserunner which is better than being fastest baserunner which he didn't win. More surprisingly Bradley lost out as Best Power Prospect to a catcher/1B Jacob Nottingham traded by Astros to A's for Kazmir. He had a 643 SLG while in the league [he's in High A now]. Bradley's slugging is way lower at 491; Nottingham hit a lot more doubles and fanned much less often. Bradley is a HR, walk or bust sort of hitter.

Greg Allen also has a good arm in the OF. He has 7 OF assists this year so far.

By the way, Papi leads all of Indians minor leaguers with 12.

Papi was looking good there for about a month but he's been pretty much silent at the plate again.

June 343/477/486 1 hr
July 250/333/402 1 hr

Nellie is now the youngest player on the Akron roster by a year and a half. Zimmer is next, he'll be 23 in December. Rodriguez turned 21 in June.

Poor Hillcats are losing all their firepower. Zimmer and NRod are gone. LRod is on the injured list. Papi stopped hitting. Claudia Bautista had an OPS in the 800's with Lake County but in the 500's in Lynchburg.

Frazier is joined by Paulino, who the reverse of Bautista has dramatically better stats against higher level completion and the currently not yet reinjured Levon Washington who has an OPS of 1.244 for the start of August. Former second round pick is 24 now and never made it to AA.

First inning for Akron:

Bryson Myles pops up.
Carlos Moncrief fans.
Yandy Diaz singles to left
Brad Zimmer singles to right
Ronnie Rodriguez hit by a pitch.
Nellie Rodriguez first AA at bat: grand slam to LF off a righty

[not that the righty is of any significance at all: Austin Bibens-Dirkx, a 30 year old in his 10th minor league season, but he's an experienced pitcher with 163 games in AA or AAA and Nellie has none]

Just came here to post about that granny. Nice. Nellie now has 88 RBI, which ranks him 3rd in all of minor league baseball.

he went hitless the rest of the game, but Zimmer also added a homer and a single and a walk. And the remaining "lame" Lynchburg lineup scored 17 runs behind Frazier and Paulino and vet Joe Sever demoted to make room for Nellie.

Paulino has been very hot of late.

Maybe Frazier gets a week off the list, he's "only" gone 353/421/647 so far in the covered period, 2 games to go

But Paulino should rate. He's .571/.625/.921 over the last 4 games
