Clippers sweep Bulls
The Clippers completed a four-game series sweep of the Durham Bulls today with a 5-3 win in Huntington Park. Scott Barnes (3-1) struck out seven in five innings to earn the win. Nick Hagadone pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to pick up his first triple-A save.

The Bulls broke to a 2-0 lead in the first inning after Ray Olmedo reached on a single off Barnes' glove and Brandon Guyer followed with a home run.

Cord Phelps singled for the Clippers with one out in the first inning and went to second on a passed ball on Jose Lobaton. Durham starter Alexander Torres looked like he might escape any trouble when he picked off Phelps at second base.

Lonnie Chisenhall, however, doubled and scored on a Jerad Head double to cut the defitcit to 2-1.

Columbus took the lead in the second. Luis Valbuena drew a leadoff walk and moved to third on a Wes Hodges double. Luke Carlin's RBI groundout tied the score at 2-2. Jason Kipnis gave Barnes a 4-2 advantage with a two-out, two-run home run.

Barnes sandwiched two strikeouts around a double by Olmedo in the third. He walked Chris Carter and Russ Canzler to load the bases before getting Lobaton on a fly to Head in center.

The Clippers picked up a run in the fifth after Kipnis walked, stole second and moved to third on a groundout. Chisenhall then singled to push the lead to 5-2.

Durham shaved a run off the deficit in the seventh when Desmond Jennings led off with a home run against reliever Marty Popham.
