Who currently on the 25 has was the first onto the 25 with the Tribe?
My guess would be Santana.....

I know how we can keep even with the Joneses. It's simple! Subtraction by Addition. The owner loosens up the pocketbook, we sign a free agent, Scherzer, this off season. The Tigers are minus Scherzer and the Indians go to the plus side with Scherzer.

Verlander = Kluber
Scherzer = Price
Sanchez = Bauer
Porcello = Salazar
????? = Carrasco/McCallister/Tomlin

If we are serious about competing with the Tigers next season, show Scherzer the money. I can't believe that Detroit could afford Price, Verlander, Cabrera, AND Scherzer along with the rest of their payroll. The Tigers are going for it all this year. Something will give.

Rusty

Where did you see the Tribe picking up ALL of Cabrera's remaining salary?

Seagull -

I posted that earlier in the day

The Cleveland Indians completed a trade with the Washington Nationals on Thursday just an hour before the trade deadline sending shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera to the Nationals in exchange for shortstop Zach Walters. The Indians also sent the Nationals cash in the deal and are paying the remaining portion of his salary this season...........................

rusty2 wrote:Really surprised the Indians are paying the rest of Asdrubal's salary. Basically like a $3.3M signing bonus for Zach Walters.

Anthony Castrovince

Asdrubal did not have much trade value. Obviously.......
Sea, the top part was a tweet by Castrovince.

Have to wonder how low Cabrera's value had sunk to if they had to pay $3.3M for a AAA utility player.

RHP Zach McAllister designated (for eventual optional assignment to Columbus)

Alright. Now give Holt some playing time!

Tonight they have Aviles at SS batting 2nd, and Rayburn in LF.

Tito drives me crazy sometimes. This crap is insanity. Doesn't matter how much Axford and some of these guys keeps costing us games, he keeps trotting them out there. He's another Hargrove with the way he insists on playing veterans.

Holt could play a better OF with a torn ACL than Rayburn. And be better at top of the lineup than Aviles' lazy ass too.

Cabrera goes 0-for-4 in Nationals debut

Asdrubal Cabrera went 0-for-4 on Friday in his first game with the Nationals.
No shame in that for Cabrera, as most of his new teammates weren't doing much better in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Phillies. Cabrera started at second base and batted seventh. With the Indians, he hit to the tune of .246/.305/.386.

@IndiansAccounts: Only Seattle Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez (5.7) has a higher pitcher WAR than #Indians RHP Corey Kulber (4.7) in all of baseball.

He went 2 for 5 last night, with a triple and an RBI
