I listened to the 9th inning finale of Batavia Muckdogs perfect game vs the Scrappers. It sounded like the umpire was rooting for the perfecto; Fryman yelled at him on the called strike 3 for out no. 26.

I was just about to post that, Civ.

McDoc, you called for the Scrappers bats to get called up, then 3 pitchers combine for a perfect game against them!

0-27

You jinxed 'em. LOL

Feast or famine Scrappers shutout again, this time they manage 4 hits, 2 by Ka'ai Tom and Santander with his 6th double, in 6 games. 100 mph throwing Carmelo Melo with a typical outing, 1-4-2-2-4-2. Lucky only 2 scored against him.

In Arizona, 6-7 RH Micah Minard: 5-6-4-4-1-2. SS Alexis Pantoja 2 hits, batting 571 and his 3rd steal in 5 games.

2 singles for Greg Allen; a single and walk for Bobby Bradley;

double no. 16 for Clint Frazier and a walk; the all-stars not yet back from California all-star game; 6-7-5-5-1-7 by Lugo

Friday games:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20150626

Akron doubleheader: Gonzalez totals 3 hits, including his 4th triple, and makes an error. Ronnie Rodriguez singled and hit his 4th homer. That's 4 homers in 67 at bats. His previous tries in AA he hit 5 homers each season in over 400 at bats. Maybe he's back to his prospect status. Still only age 23, which is about AA average.
Ryan Merritt 7--4--0--0--1--3

LuigiRod with two singles and a double. Clint Frazier singled, walked hit his 8th homer. Avg: 253; OPS 752. Ok, not great. Papi singled and doubled. Maybe he'll hit a homer some day. Mitch Brown stunk again: 5-4-6-5-4-6

Greg Allen 3 singles and 22nd steal. Paulino single and double. F. Mejia two walks.

Santander with a single. Scrappers have amassed 6 hits and no runs over their past 3 games. In the prior two they totaled 26 runs. Leandro Linares: 5-2-1-0-2-2

Gabriel Mejia two singles, walk and 3rd steal. Pantoja single and walk. Sam Hentges: 1 2/3--3--3--2--2--4

BA notes:

CLE AA Gonzalez, Erik SS 4 1 2 1 .281 3B (4), SB (10)
CLE AA Rodriguez, Ronny 2B 4 1 1 1 .343 HR (4)
CLE HiA Frazier, Clint CF 4 1 2 1 .253 HR (8), BB (29)
CLE HiA Papi, Mike RF 5 1 2 0 .214 2B (15)
CLE LoA Paulino, Dorssys LF 4 0 2 0 .242 2B (10)
CLE MAJ Lindor, Francisco SS 5 0 2 0 .243
CLE MAJ Urshela, Giovanny 3B 3 0 1 0 .256

CLE AA Merritt, Ryan 7 4 0 0 1 3 3.59 W (5-6)
CLE HiA Brown, Mitch 5 4 6 5 4 6 6.07 L (2-8)

Brown had similar performance in 2013, when he tried and failed in Lake County and returned to Rookie Ball. His WHIP for the season was 1.744. He returned to LC in 2014 and excelled, WHIP 1.214. Now his first attempt in High A has been another disaster, with a WHIP of nearly the same as 2013's, this time at 1.751. Even his good year including 24 wild pitches, and 11 hit batters. This season is by far is worst K/IP rate, at just over 6 when he's always topped 8 before.
At best Mitch has a long road to the majors. He's 21 years old so is still 2 years younger than the average at his current level.
