Good day for the teenage hitters:
Back in the lineup, Bobby Bradley delivers a big night: 2 homers, a single, 5 rbi. Suddenly his OPS leaps to 1076
Mejia 2 doubles plus a single, hitting 333 in May
Chang a single and a double and 3rbi.
Two hits each for Frazier and LuigiRod and Zimmer homers, steals and walks thrice. Even Papi with a single and double.
Two singles for Tony Wolters, hitting 260, OPS still only 655
Single and double for Lindor, and for Aguillar.
In all three teams one; one way ahead when game suspended. Our teams outscored theirs 42-15.
Michael Roth LH in Columbus with 8 strong innings: 8-5-2-2-1-7 2.37. Another option for Tribe No. 5 role. I think he's not another soft-tosser, but I'd have to look that up. If nothing else, he's not Bruce Chen

Our top offensive prospects had a collectively, with Zimmer excepted, pretty rough April, but May is looking better.

Offenses are starting out with some oomph again today. Lynchburg with 5 in the first, Columbus 2 and Akron 1. First inning homers by Jerry Sands (Columbus), Clint Frazier and two teammates (Lynchburg). Akron doesn't hit homers, only 7 in their 31 games!!
[Columbus with 25 is second in the IL;
Lynchburg's 19 were league leading before today's big inning --- Carolina league is certainly a pitchers' league, avg team hits 1 homer every 2 games; Hillcats' Zimmer and LuigiRodriguez are two of the three leading the league with 5 blasts; Lake County 19 which is third in the league]

Tuesday games:
http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20150512
Need some bullpen help in Cleveland? Crockett had a 1-2-3 inning. Adams was a disaster, blew the save and the game allowing 2 runs on 3 walks and a hit in 1/3 inning in the 9th.
Future starters?
AA: Shawn Morimando 4-7-4-4-4-6
HI A: Dace Kime 5 2/3-11-6-6-3-4 Carolina League debut not too impressive
Lo A: Sean Brady 6-5-0-0-0-7 2.73 for the year: 33 innings, 32 hits 3 walks 30 strikeouts; a smallish lefty
Hitters:
Aguillar 2 singles and a double; Lindor single and 7th steal
Frazier 2nd homer; Papi single and walk.
Paulino 4th double, 3rd homer; His line in May: 348/388/565. Maybe his best in 3 summers.

Our 3 best all starting today: Anderson for Akron, Plutko for Lynchburg and Sheffield for Lake County. The former two deserve promotions -- Anderson was in Akron all last year, rather unsuccessfully; Plutko moved to Carolina midseason; Sheffield is just a kid so will stay all year at Low A unless he really impresses.
