Career day for Mike Papi 2 singles in one game!!! Brad Zimmer caught stealing the first time after 13 successes. Clint Frazier doubles and walks, hitting a fine 275, but OPS only 701. Michael Peoples raked for 13 hits and 10 runs in 3 1/3. He's subbing for injured Luis Lugo, on dl along with opening day starter Dylan Baker.

3 hits for Tyler Holt. Ramsey single and double. Hitless Lindor hitting 235. Holt is only Clipper starter hitting over 250. 4 in yesterday's lineup below 200.

After red hot start, Tyler Naquin's gone 1-17. At least his walks vs strikeouts remain much improved 9 bb 6 k.
Shawn Morimando conquered his walk problem in an OK start: 6-5-3-3-0-2

Lots of hitting for Lake County in 10-6 win. SS Chang 3 singles, 2 RBI, 19-year-old hitting 258, Made his 10th error.
19-yer-old catcher Francisco Mejia 2 hits hitting 190, 6 for his last 17. C turned 1B Sicnarf Loopstock a single and double.
Greg Allen with a single and 2 rbi. Hitting 205.
J.P. Feyereisen career shutout streak up to 27 innings. Mediocre start for Dace Kime 6-8-4-4-0-5.

20 spots now available on the Baseball America weekly Prospect Hot Sheet, but once again we are shut out. Not exactly surprising since none of our prospects had much of a week, and few of them are having much of a season.

Lucky to avoid anyone on their Not So Hot list, we have good candidates for that honor.
Lindor in the past week went: 23-3-3-1 double, caught stealing, 4 walks, 6 strikeouts .130/.259/.183
Papi always a contender in this category was: 19-0-3-0 no xb hits, 4 walks 7 strikeouts .158/.304/.158

Most of the rest hit about .200 which isn't bad enough to be cited, but has become increasingly consistent for hitters like Gonzalez, Ramsey, Aguillar, Mejia. Zimmer and Naquin fell into that level this past week, too.

Indians' Hottest Prospect of the Week probably would be Yu Chiang-Chang at Lake County:
31-6-10-5 with 2 doubles, homer 2 bb, 6 k .323/.364/.484.
Entered the season ranked about #13 or so by BA; probably deserves to be moving up although his future defensive position is not likely to be third base. He may be following the career path of the young offensively minded infielder Jhonny Peralta.

Sunday games:
Good day for shortstops:

CLE AA Gonzalez, Erik SS 5 2 3 4 .252 2B (7), SB (4)
CLE AAA Lindor, Francisco SS 3 1 1 1 .252 2B (6), BB (16) [lots of walks; better by far than our incumbent SS]
CLE AAA Ramsey, James CF 3 0 1 0 .235 BB (12)
CLE HiA Rodriguez, Nellie 1B 4 1 2 1 .229 HR (4) [coming along]
CLE AA Merritt, Ryan 5 8 3 3 1 2 4.26 W (2-2) [proving 2014 was a fluke it appears]
CLE AAA Armstrong, Shawn 1 1 0 0 1 3 3.86 Sv (6) [4 runs in 1/3 inning in one game, otherwise 1 run this season, 17 K in 9 1/3]
CLE HiA Lugo, Luis 3 7 3 2 0 5 5.19 L (0-2)

Starting pitchers of the Future:

Cody Anderson AA: 6 starts, 30 innings [once the rain came after 1 inning], 26 hits, 5 walks, 22 strikeouts, 1 homer ERA 1.20, WHIP 1.03. [last year: 17 homers in 125 innings]

Adam Plukto to date: 6 starts, 36 2/3 innings, 23 hits, 3 walks, 31 strikeouts, 3 homeruns. ERA 1.23/ WHIP 0.71. The homerun total is not that great, everything else is.

Justus Sheffield: 6 starts, 26 1/3 innings, 24 hits, 10 walks, 31 strikeouts. no homers. ERA 3.08. 1.29 WHIP. Obviously more of a power pitcher.
