Sunday lines from BA:

CLE AA Wendle, Joe 2B 4 0 1 1 .255
CLE AAA Aguilar, Jesus 1B 4 1 2 1 .294 HR (17)
strange how offense is down in the majors, but we have a lot more power hitting in our minor leagues this year than last; no one in our system topped 17 homers last year; I think Aguillar ranks 4th behind Gallas, who hit his 24th yesterday, Nellie R who has 20, and I think Urshela's total is 18.
CLE AAA Ramsey, James CF 4 1 2 1 .302 2 2B (9) [I'd rather have his future than Masterson's final two months]
CLE HiA Rodriguez, Luigi LF 3 0 1 0 .244 2B (12), 2 BB (46), CS (7)
CLE LoA Rodriguez, Nellie 1B 3 0 2 1 .262 2B (29), BB (59) [xb hit machine]
CLE MAJ Ramirez, Jose SS 4 0 3 1 .255 2B (3)

CLE AAA Adams, Austin 1.1 2 0 0 0 2 2.47
CLE MAJ Bauer, Trevor 6 4 0 0 3 9 4.34 W (5-7)
CLE SS Merryweather, Julian 2 4 3 3 0 1 3.66

We have a lot less to be excited about with our minor league pitching than our hitting. But we need more of the latter so I guess that's OK.

And the box scores:

A few other notable performances:

More relievers:
Bryan Price, 2/3 inning 1k for Columbus. 27 year old hasn't walked anyone in his last 11+ innings and has had a solid August. Could join Tribe pen soon.

Louis Head, 2 innings, 1 hit 4 K. In Akron 33 1/3 IP 35 K. Before that in Carolina, 20 1/3 IP 34 K

Ryan Merritt, not his best night,, 6-8-4-4-0-2 2.62

Dorsyss Paulino, 0-4 with 3 K

Sicnarf Loopstok seems unable to hit a single; 1-4 with a triple yesterday for Lake County.
He's 5-20 for the Captains; the hits have been 1 single, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer.
He was 7-15 rehabbing in Arizona. The hits were 2 singles, 1 triple, 4 homers.

For the rookie Tribe infielder, this has just been the latest in a productive stretch as he is batting .405 (15-for-37) in his last ten games with two doubles and five RBI. Since his latest call-up, Ramirez is batting .307 with a homer and six RBI in 24 games.

“He’s starting to play with some confidence,” Francona said. “That was the key we saw from him last year. He’s played such a good shortstop and he’s all over the place. When he’s hitting second, he can get a bunt down and he’s getting some hits now. He’s helped us.”

Since July 23, Ramirez is hitting .309 (25-for-81) with a homer and five RBI. The switch-hitter has also found a home in the two-hole in the Tribe lineup, hitting .432 in 37 at-bats.

Don't know how long these two guys can keep it up but it's great to see. Both are not only doing great on offense, but both have been playing some stellar defense at shortstop.

BA's Monday highlight, running late today. And the batting averages and other supposed year to date stats are all wrong; it takes me too long to delete all that, but at least the game stats are correct. [No Bradley and Zimmer are not hitting 409a nd 410]

CLE AAA Lindor, Francisco SS 6 2 2 0 .280 2B (2)
