Oakland has the lead for the other wild card spot? How far ahead are they?

Oh, I see, Oakland is in 1st in the West. It looks like we're 5 behind Texas, 2 behind Tampa, tied with Baltimore, 1/2 game ahead of the Yankees who are having a series against their hated enemy Boston like we have had with our hated enemy Detroit.

I see David Huff got the start for NY today and left after 3 1/3 innings and 9 runs.

In 2 games plus 6 1/2 innings today the Red Sox have outscored Yankees 33-23. Rivera blew the save on Thursday. NY lost a 5 run lead in the 7th and 8th on Friday. Huff let the bullpen off the hook Saturday.

He makes money for his owner year after year and he has put the best Indians team on the field this year in years. He got Francona and a commitment from Dolan to $$$ and it is paying off. I have loved this season as long as we aren't playing the Tigers.

We have a solid group and finally excellent starting pitching! Lots of roster and payroll flexibility. Good baseball times are here in Cleveland for a while....
...

Yes, this team is in it....THIS YEAR.

If the feeble Shaps could put any hometown butts in the seats we would have the wild card locked up by now, with the surge of home town fandom on our side in our home games of the season, to date.

Shaps and Marie Antoinetti have locked us and Cleveland Fandom with ankle bracelets and dead weight to pay for Cabs and Swish and their $25 million for "next year."

Right now, a good roll or two along the foul lines with a speedy runner might be enough to get the necessary game or two to get to a one game play in.

Meanwhile.....back at the ranch in Cleveland.....Mark Shapiro and his marketing prowess leave the stadium about 75% EMPTY in this possibly epoch time of Cleveland Fandom.

No one in Cleveland cares.

At least according to announced paid attendance.

I usually root for underdogs.

The last time I was in KC to follow The Tribe, I went to a casino after the game, and did well at black jack. In between marriages at the time, a girl offered to drive me back to my hotel when I touted the hot tub in my room. We both enjoyed, but I am normally a bit concerned with public shared waters with possible fecal matter, and such. She, in her nakedness, poured the tequila freely as she served me in the hot tub, and such, and I managed to get over it and move on.

She told me she voted Democrat.

I played along.

"To the top"

OK....

I want The Cleveland Indians to win this thing....THIS YEAR.

I'm not comfortable being a naysayer for the last less than 20 games.

:-)

I personally think that Shaps and Marie Antoinetti are fandom flotsam that need to go away.

Soon.

On the topic of: Blind Pigs

But, I'll play along on Fandom for the next few weeks. Sort of.

If we don't make the post season, I'll be quicker to the Shaps and Antoinetti needed guillotine than Madam Defarge could execute a stitch.

I agree, no excuse for the lack of attendance. But man what a fun season! I can't go to bed at night until I know the Indians score. TV and Radio ratings off the charts. That's $$$ in Dolans pocket. Heck even Jimenez is finally a top of the rotation starter again. (Funny how that works in a contract year) He and Kazmir owe the Indians big time! I'd now love to re-sign both, even trade Masterson to do it. Salazar is the real deal and Kluber and MacAllister are just fine back of the rotation guys. Get Bauer on track and this starting staff has lots of potential!

We have trouble scoring so I wish Francona would turn Bourn, Stubbs and Kipness loose on the bases and find a way to get Ramirez in the lineup (3B?). Gomes is the starting C and that moves Santana to 1B or the trade market. Swishers health makes him a DH in my mind so we will see. Can't DH our backup catcher. Love the fact that Avilles and Rayburn are both signed. We have a very nice bench and Lindor will be our SS by the All Star break.

Why can't Lonnie hit big league pitching? Sure wish we could get him going!

Best trade in a long time. Esmil Rodgers (Rogers) for Gomes and Aviles. I think I have that right.

I dunno, I still don't think the starting pitching is deep-playoff calibre.

VT'er- I apologize profusely, I just noticed your message and I realize it is very late. I honestly did not know messages existed. The answer , though late is OK, strangely OK. :D

Skankees beat the Orioles tonight, and the Red Sox beat the Rays, so we are only 1.5 games out of the wild card, but the field is crowded:

Just for historical note...

Don't let it be forgot (there once was Camelot) that our manager "Cona" left "Swish" and "Cabs" in the locker room for this game.

Yep, "Cabs" showed up late to get an 0 for 1 plate appearance.

But this was a standings related HUGE game for the deciding game of the series against a top competitor for the slot Cleveland wants in the post season.

Huge!

And the $25 million guys "Shaps" and "Antoinetti" have anointed with committed $25 million for 2014 and beyond were left for perhaps one can only guess, beer and fried chicken after lunch in "Cona's" man cave. It seems.

Actually I do not fault Cona for benching Swish and Cabs today. They ain't hitting much and maybe could benefit from some rest. Or maybe a seance, or something.

Swish and Cabs are the $25 million dollar Shaps and Antoinetti pillars for next season, but Cona could not play them when key chips were down today.

Again, just for historical note....as my posts continue to be deleted, thanks a lot JR. I hardly knew you....

And 75% of the seats are empty at home games in Cleveland in the current Shapsland.

This is the time for Rusty to offer up yet another defense of why Shaps is in the top tier of execs in baseball in his opinion.

Rusty offers up that you are a boring drunk that needs to seek help. Don't believe it ? Read your posts when you are sober. They read like this.

Blah, blah, blah, Shapiro, blah, blah, blah, Francona, blah, blah, blah Swisher and Cabrera, blah, blah, blah whining and crying !

You are so confused because you so much want to fit in but you are off spinning in your own universe.

Inside your head you are wondering what is wrong ? Guys I am using all the key group think buzz words. Dolan, Shapiro, Princeton, Francona, beer, chicken, attendance, Rusty and stories about ugly women that you have hit on or have been involved with. (Unfortunately until you upgrade the quality of your pictures I have to to say ugly !) No one told you to post pictures.

What is wrong guys ? Why is no one responding ?

Well, you have exposed yourself as the little drunk ball of hate.

Time to change course or take off !
