So to get any attention in the Cleveland sports world Friday was a little tough; but there were some Lebron quality baseball performances by some of our top prospects throughout the farm system.

Frazier with a career night on Friday: 5 hits in 5 at bats, 2 home runs. Throw in his 8th steal and 2 rbi.
Teammate the not good enough for BA Nellie Rodriguez strokes his 6th homer in 8 days, 16th of the season and 5 RBI. That makes his RBI total 20 in the past 10 games.
Dace Kime rode all that offense to his 5h win in his last 6 decisions, allowing 2 runs in 6 innings.

More quality offense for Carolina: Erik Gonzalez 3 hits, including his 3rd homer of the season and 2nd of the week, for 4 rbi. Luigi Rodriguez 2 hits and a walk. Alex Monsalve 3 hits.
And a great pitching performance for Adam Plutko 7-5-1-1-1-9

Lindor solid night, too, with 2 singles and a walk and his 24th steal.
Cole Sulser wasn't pitching well in Carolina but gets the spot start for Akron and goes 6-3-2-1-1-6

For Columbus, Aguillar singled, doubled, walked twice; Ramirez 2 singles and a walk; Holt 2 doubles and a single.

In Arizona, Grant Hockin 2 shutout innings. Rehabbing Dylan Baker faced 6 hitters, allowed 1 hit and struck out the rest.

In the Dominican, 18 year old Gabriel Mejia 3-3 with his 31st and 32nd steals (team has only played 36 games)

And the Scrappers lost yet again, now 8-20, Allen singled and stole his 8th; Mejia doubled in a run; Zimmer walked. Sean Brady 5-6-2-2-2-4

Frazier ended the Captains game with a game-tying triple, and scored on a wild throw on the relay. Mucho fuego

Haven't heard much out of Greg Allen lately. I see that Bradley was 0-2 last night, but did have two walks. Love the batting eye & patience of our newest guys. BB-K ratio should be a world better than previous draftees lately.

Good work by Cody Anderson, 6 shutout innings, and Shawn Morimando, one run in 6. Luis Lugo keeps racking up the strikeouts, 7 in 5 innings, but also letting in more than enough runs.

Yesterday's lines from BA:

Oops first here's the note on Friday game by Frazier:

HITTER OF THE DAY: Clint Frazier, cf, low Class A Lake County (Indians)

Frazier had a career night, going 5-for-5 with two homers in the Captains' 14-5 win over Great Lakes. The 19-year-old, Cleveland's first-rounder out of Loganville (Ga.) High a year ago, struggled out of the gate this season. The righthanded-hitter hit .249 with two homers in his first 43 games, but he's batting .374 with eight homers in his past 32 games

Gabriel Mejia among DSL leaders in:

Batting average No. 7 at 364
Runs No. 8
Hits No. 1
On Base Pct No. 9
Steals his 42 are 16 ahead of second best.
He's tied for lead in caught stealing with 10, but his 80%+ success rate is excellent. [The guy he's tied with is 7/17!]

Mejia turns 19 the end of July.
5-11 160 switch hitter. He's listed as a SS, but I've seen him in CF and 1b too.

Frazier with 3 more hits tonight.

Hopefully he's turned a corner and not just having a short lived hot streak.

Gotta love Frazier and Lindor playing well. They are the two keys to sustained success at the ML level. Lindor arrives in September, Frazier a couple of years away. Man to Bauer and Kluder look like the real deal? If we can get Salazar back on track we really have the makings of an excellent club!

Already have a championship bullpen and manager.

Sure wish we had traded Masterson in ST, but who knew? Now I wouldn't even off him the one year qualifying offer to get the draft pick!

I'd like to get a draft pick for Masterson, but I don't care about losing him. How much is a "qualifying offer"? I hope it's a figure he would turn down.

I certainly agree about Kluber and Bauer. Trevor is 5 years younger than Corey and is likely to develop into the team's ace. Pitcher's futures are always susceptible to injury; we'll see if Bauer's unique routine protects him.
