I think my pre-season vote of 71-75 wins for the 2013 Indians will turn out not to be correct.

For those who advise trading Swisher, how much money has to be sent with him in order to make that happen?

I think Asdrubal would net us something pretty valuable in return. A young but experienced middle infielder who hits well. Certainly more valuable commodity than Swisher. Why does somewhere back there in the postings believe ACab won't be attractive at trade time?

The Cleveland Indians are not going to finish ahead of the Detroit Tigers in 2013. That's a fact.

No, that is an opinion.

Collapses can and do happen. The Tigers could suffer a few injuries to key players, or the pitchers could lose their effectiveness, and things could spiral out of control. Ask the Indians current manager about his Red Sox team two years ago.

As far as statistics go, remember the old saying, "Figures lie, and liars figure."

August 15? Do you make your money and business decisions on extended deadlines with no further action after the date possible?

Shaps and Antonetti need to dump this $15 million in 2014, $15 million in 2015, $15 million in 2016 and $17 million in 2017 with qualifying 2016 AB's (did Shaps sign a guy to a four year contract he thought might not be worth playing the guy in year four?)

Swisher needs to go now. If Shaps and Antonetti cannot make that happen before this trade deadline, Swisher will surpass Wayne Garland in Cleveland signings futility.

Shaps and Antonetti gave Swisher the bucks.

Let's see if any other MLB team thinks they made a wise investment.

Lot of money for a glad-hander.

Seagull, you know that Swisher is more then a glad hander.

His OPS of 750 isn't bad, isn't great; it is also well below his career average so there's every reason to think he will still return to his norm. He has not been on a downward trend and he has had injury problems that limited him earlier this year. 821 in July.

This is a rather pointless controversy.

Danny Salazar was my breakout pitcher a couple of years back. Too bad he had the arm problems. He may have made his debut sooner.

I am with rusty on Swisher. You don't sign this guy, then after half a season decided he sucks because he had a slow first half.

On the "dead horse" trade front:

Drew Pomeranz - S - Rockies

Drew Pomeranz was hammered for seven runs over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a start with Double-A Tulsa.
Ouch. Pomeranz gave up 10 hits and one walk while striking out five. The Rockies sent him down in order to stay on turn, so he'll come back up to start Monday against the Marlins. However, with an 8.76 ERA and 11/14 K/BB ratio over three starts this season, he can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.
