Factor in his World War II service, of course.

Ted Williams retired before I was old enough to pay attention to baseball, or learned that Cleveland Indians.....especially under the reign of Mark Shapiro.....are perennial losers.

Omar Vizquel is the best all around player to ever don a Cleveland Indians uniform.

When he gets in, we're all going to Cooperstown.

So on those posted stats, Babe wins, Ted second and Lou just behind. No performance-enhancing drugs, but also no relief specialists to face.

Babe at home OPS 1181, on the road 1147. And a great pitcher.
Williams home OPS 1149, on the road 1083. And took off his prime years to fight the wars.
Gehrig home OPS 1056, on the road 1102.

There were few African Americans and Hispanics in med schools until recent decades.

Should the accomplishments of doctors and medical researchers from years prior be tossed aside?

Should we debate the battle worthiness of Triassic dinosaurs versus later Cretaceous dinosaurs?

Nope. Different eras, and different variables.

The game objective is to excel in your era, with a hope that your body of work might be remembered and noted in a future era.

Stan Musial will forever trump Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa.

Pete Rose?

The jury is out.
