Nolan Jones, of all people, with a game-tying 9th inning homer. Once again, quotes from both him and Vogt, make it clear that Jones is his own worst enemy: constantly putting pressure on himself, readjusting his batting stance and approach. I assume he has quietly used a sports pyschologist. His physical skills seem potentially impressive.
And then Manzardo with his third walk off hit of the season.
And terrific work by Messick and a batch of relievers. Messick: 1 walk in 2 starts 13 2/3 innings, a model of efficiency.
