How many ways can you lose ballgames? We seem to be pulling them out of the hat.

Hate to say it, but i've lost complete confidence in clase. Not all his fault. Fickle finger of fate cost us this one.

Glaring weeknesses with our position players is starting to show. We have Ramirez and Kwan, i guess Santana and a bunch of not so ready for the major leagues players down on the farm.

We seem to hit minor leavue pitching pretty well but hitting major league pitching is another story.

The veteran ptesence has been a bust.

Really don't know where to go from here.

Pitching is still a strength. Can't win if you can't score.

Mark, I find it funny that the 2 optimists are at a loss for words about what is going on with this organization. Every day it seems I just become more frustrated by the lack of action. I am really concerned that Vogt is in over his head and has ruined the confidence of some of the players by this constant tinkering with the lineup.

Yes!

I always remind myself that last season was a completely freakish one. That bullpen was historically good.

Now they are burned out and regressing to the mean where they belong. So while he gets how to handle a bullpen he needs to dial back the platooning.

IF I remember correctly they are either #1 or near the top in platooning. And near the bottom on offense. Hmmmm

I think they are in danger of screwing Manzo up. The guy came up with a nice process now he swings for the fences all day. Yuck!

Possible. I think the players are the big problem but Vogt is not helping with his style of managing. Last night Nolan Jones came up in the 7th inning with 2 outs and no one on base. The Guardians were winning by 2 runs, there was a left handed relief pitcher and Jones had 2 hits and had walked in 3 previous at bats. So Vogt decides to pinch hit RH hitting Will Wilson. WHY ??????? Do you think that Vogt wished he had Jones when the Astros came back to tie the game ?

Just way too much tinkering !

One of the few things we can agree on, Rusty. I had the very same thoughts concerning Jones. I'm hoping he's turned the corner.

I don't think its the hitting coach. Dennis. It's pitch selection and hand/eye coordination in my opinion. Thats something your not going teach.

I haven't seen a lot of games but i watch the "live" games on MLB. The strike zone box is quite revealing for both batter and pitcher.

I figure if we play 700 ball the rest of rhe way, we have a chance at a wild card spot. Hopefully. Bieber can help take up the slack Ortiz left behind. Maybe Means could even be a factor down the stretch.

Closing out this first half on a positive note would be a big thing. Go Guards!

Good news. This 3 game win streak just chopped 2 games off the wild card lead
6.5 games back, now 4.5 games back.
Just keep winning boys.

Word to the wise. Don't take the White Sox lightly!!! Could bite them in the ass if they do. Guards on a nice roll, don't blow it!!

I believe that.

But, have you heard the phrase "Playing Down To The Other Team"? ;)

This is not the time for that.

Besides, the games are in jeapardy. We have 3 waves of very bad weather coming through the area. One tonight, one of Friday, and again on Saturday. Prediction of high winds, heavy rains, flash flooding, even a threat of tornados all three days. Only nice day would be Sunday. Maybe they can sneak a game or two in between the raindrops.

Grab an early lead, hang on for 5 innings, and take our chances on the weather.

Guardians Could Make Big Run With Upcoming Schedule

Ernesto Cova
July 10, 2025
By Ernesto Cova

The Cleveland Guardians got off to a strong start to the season.

Even with the Detroit Tigers leading the AL Central, the Guardians looked good enough to challenge them.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in June, as a free-fall widened the gap between them and the Tigers and raised questions about whether they would make the playoffs.

However, things could get better soon.

As shown by Guardians Prospective on X, the schedule is significantly more forgiving over the rest of the season.

The Guardians lead the American League in games played against teams above .500, with 58 out of their first 91 contests coming against winning teams.

They will now go on a stretch of 20 games against teams below .500, and 22 of their final 71 games will come against teams with a winning record.

The timing is perfect.

They’re fresh off sweeping the Houston Astros for the first time since 2017 and remain in the AL Wild Card race.

The Guardians aren’t likely to make any big moves before the trade deadline, but given this situation, they might opt to stay put and not give up on some of their stars.

It might be a bit of a stretch, and they may not be a World Series-caliber team right now, but crazier things have happened.
