Omg 1-0 win. Infield single by Santana, walks to Noel and Manzardo. Nolan Jones hits it long down the line, just foul on a 3-2 pitch. Jones with the winning walk-off walk. All off Mike Clevinger. Cle 1-3-1 and Six 0-2-0

Lucky to get out of this one with a win.
Pitching was superb even if it was against the white sox.
Anemic offense. Forgot to show up today.
Hope this is not what's in store for the rest of the season.
Time to bite the bullet. We can't be any worse with Brito.
Brito time.
The pitching staff is going to be tested again this year.
Now I know why we signed all of those pitchers. Looks like we're going to need all of them if they get healthy.
Ramirez with 4 error, Rocchio with 3.
What it going on?
Tigers shutout the yankees behind Skubal. Five in a row and two in a row against the Yankees.
Better wake up soon before the Tigers start running away with this division.

A little early to feel its "Time to "bite the bullet". We have played 10 games! I agree that Brito is likely to be a useful addtion and will be up sooner than later.
Terrible weather yesterday is not a good test either of our pitching or our hitting.

Maybe it's a sign. Last year White Sox won 41 games. Their record vs Guardians 5-8. We provided 13% of their wins and we still won the division.

WoW. 3 hits yesterday. 3 hits today. Against the white sox!!
Kwan saves the day. Clase can't get it done.
Another bad day for the offense.
Another stellar day for the pitching staff.
All right, where's Brito?

Kwan's arm and the baserunner's hamstring combined for the win.
Noel with 2/3 of our hits including one that actually came with a runner in scoring position. That was a nice day but Big Christmas hasn't hit a regular season homer since the end of August, about 75 at bats.
Jones drew 2 walks which is the beginning and end of his offense; he hasn't homered believe it or not, in about 160 at bats all the way back to last June with the thin-air Rockies.
Brennan after a few quiet games is hitting well for Columbus. If they bring him back what do they do with Jones? His "ceiling" is high but he's nowhere near reaching it.

first inning features:
2 wild pitches by Williams to score a run. I entered the season expecting big things from him. First start was OK. 2nd wasn't not. Not a great beginning today
Kwan lead off single
Manzardo's 4th homer
Jones took a gamble and swung at three pitches; missed them all. He's better off taking every pitch thrown to him. Pretty apparent why the Rockies dumped him. They're using Freeman only rarely, he's 1-8 for the season, playing 2ndBase today

Williams allowed 2 singles to start the 2nd, then retired the side
2 strikeouts in the 3rd.
Rocchio doubles and KWAN 2nd homer makes it 4 to 1
Sure would be happy to see one of those LONG LONG term contracts like Boston and Toronto gave out to Steven. Unfortunately Cleveland is unlikely to even discuss it again until October. 10 year for Kwan would be a great way to center the team for the long term.

Jones made contact on both of his swings the second time off, both went foul. Took the other 5 pitches, including strike three.
That makes him 3-28 with 13 strikeouts.

Williams had to work kind of hard but made it through 5 innings and just the one run and 7 strikeouts against worst team in decades.
Enough to qualify for the win,
And in the bottom of the 5th Mr. Jones reverts to total passivity: swings at nothing, takes 5 pitches, 3 of them strikes. And gets to sit down again.

last 18 times to the plate, he took 4 walks; and he struck out 8 times.
They talk about "3 outcome" hitters. Jones is limited to 2 outcomes for 2/3 of his at bats.

Kwan's 4th hit, a bunt single, scores our 6th run.

2 quick and efficient innings for Junis
it's Nolan's turn again. And he singles.

Cantillo worked the final two scoreless innings.
So if he's looking good in relief, and when Walters is ready to return, do they DFA McKenzie? Or hope someone else is injured...?
