Naquin still looking for a job

So is Carlos Perez unless he's retired.

I see Tigers DFA's Eric Haase back to AAA but invited him to camp.

Puig remains unemployed

Trevor Bauer got picked up by the Dodgers, if you'd missed that one

Trevor Bauer picked the Dodgers. Best agent in the game.

Dodgers better hope that he doesn't have a season anything like 2019 over the next 3.

civ:

1. The majority of money is only in year 1 and year 2.
2. I give Bauer credit for 2019. You may remember he "hinted" that he wasn't 100%. But he pitched through it and still had an ERA in the high 3's for Cleveland.
3. This guy is driven and I don't doubt he can maintain and even better who he is now.

The guy represents himself in contract negotiations and coaches himself. No need for Agents or Pitching Coaches and becomes the highest paid player in baseball.

When the Tribe gets players like that, they're just passing through.

The Mets and Dodgers ended up the ONLY players for Bauer. And Bauer seemingly used the Mets to get what he wanted from the Dodgers.

So really the entire MLB was OUT on paying Trevor Bauer that kind of money.

Doesn't Bauer have an agent? Or is she his press agent/
There are few personalities like Trevor; he does things his way and that's been successfully [mostly] in his pitching and his finances.

OAKLAND the news is not as good for outfielder Ka’ai Tom. He’s still out with an oblique injury and has no target date for return, though Melvin hopes the Rule 5 draft pick will be back in time to play some Cactus League games, per Athletics Farm. He must make the active roster out of camp or else be returned to his former team, unless he lands on the injured list in which case the decision would be delayed until he’s healthy.

PIRATES: No appearances for Luis Oviedo for our other Rule 5 draftee. No news that I find.

Well one thing about Oviedo is that since he was traded to Pittsburgh I do believe that circumvents his Rule 5 status.

Looks ok now for Cookie.

Carlos Carrasco (elbow) pitched in a simulated game Thursday in Mets camp.

It was his first time facing live hitters since he came down with a bit of minor elbow soreness 10 days ago. Carrasco has downplayed the issue and could advance to Grapefruit League action next if he feels no abnormal discomfort in the aftermath of Thursday's workout. The 33-year-old starter is hoping to be available for the beginning of the 2021 regular season and seems to be on the right track.

Case in point:

Carlos Carrasco strained his right hamstring during conditioning drills on Thursday.

Carrasco threw a simulated game against live hitters on Thursday morning in camp and then went out to run, which is when the hamstring injury apparently occurred. He's headed for an MRI so that the Mets can get an idea on the severity of the strain.

It's clear by now that the 33-year-old right-hander will not be ready for the beginning of the 2021 regular season. He was already iffy due to elbow soreness.
