And September continues with a brilliant 7 inning 1 hitter by Williams; he threw 46 pitches in shaky-ish first 2 innings. 52 pitches over the next 5.
Thomas with a 2 run homer to get us started, added a double; after 3 hits yesterday. Maybe Thomas does not equal Straw. [that homer equal Straws' 22-23 total]
Josh with his own 2 run blast.

KC has dropped 6 in a row. Perhaps we can put them out of their misery by the end of the series.

Noel on the bench again tonight. Who do you think the Royals would rather see batting 5th tonight ? Noel or Brennan ?

Vogt, your pitchers have been winning not your lineups !

Josh Naylor out of the lineup and hurt.

Manzardo at first.

With a first-round bye in hand, the Guardians are changing their pitching plans…

Tonight: Andrew Walters will start a bullpen game

Friday: Joey Cantillo (possibly an opener first)

Saturday: Ben Lively

Sunday: an opener/Gavin Williams

As previously noted in the Forum a couple of weeks after the trade of Tena and R.Ramirez and Clemmey for Lane Thomas,
Thomas Equals Myles Straw. '
But I'm happy to have him anyway.

Civ, TFIR has been serving me Crow for a couple of weeks now and I am enjoying the reason I am eating that crow!!!!! I stand totally corrected.

None of us knew anything about him, and he certainly couldn't have debuted more ineffectively. Now he's even hitting righthanders.
And I'm hoping he can hit Skubal today.

The impossible happened! 1st 3run homer ever off Clase.

All 4 series are even up. All we have to do is win twice in Detroit

The announcer in Dodgers vs Padres game last, made this comment, " I don't know why the umpires didn't call infield on that 1b let drop." Only had a runner on 1st with no outs. They shouldn't let a female announcer mis call that. Bad enough Tom Hamilton doesn't know what a foul tip is.

Tigers are, of all things, starting a starter today. Not an especially good one; gives up lots of homers. And I imagine he won't hang around long. But let's get to him.
I've seen nothing about Cobb's blister or his fingernail, so perhaps he's ready to go. That would be a boost. But I'm sure Williams and Cantillo will be ready forlong inning duty

Typing this after the 6th inning for Cleveland. Vogt crapped his pants in the 2nd inning today. Pinch hitting for Brennan in the 2nd was a really dumb move. Then he pulls Manzardo in the 3rd after one at bat for Fry. Not sure I have ever seen a manager make these kinds of decisions. Team is taking their lead from Vogt and playing scared !
