I heard a comedian one night making that thought the "comedic moment" of one of his routines.


I forget his whole buildup, but the conclusion involved a "casino like moment" of some guy shouting "I won! I won! I won!" as his normal change spilled through a vending machine.


I remembered sometime......not so long ago........ and went to pay for about $3 worth of postage in a US Post Office vending machine. With a twenty.



With about 15+ Susan B. Anthony's spilliing out the chute, I shouted "I won!.....I won!"


I'd like to say fictionally and stereotypically that several Asian ladies fought me for the machine.

In reality, I walked away.

Look for the symbols, next to the "light bulb" icons on the left side of the page, and click on them for the newest posts. Also, you might like to change your display so the newest posts appear on top instead of the bottom. To do this, go to User Control Panel --> Edit Display options --> Display post order direction: Descending

Orlando Cabrera started his lobbying early in spring training, Cleveland Indians Manager Manny Acta recalled, after Cabrera watched teammate Asdrubal Cabrera take batting practice for the first time. "Orlando was impressed with his power, and he started talking with him about the mental aspects of hitting," Acta said.

Orlando Cabrera encouraged Asdrubal to look for more opportunities to drive the ball, to look for a pitch in a particular part of the strike zone. Orlando encouraged Asdrubal that he could do more at the plate. "He told him that he could take a bigger swing, look for extra bases," Acta recalled. "Because he's a guy who could hit for more power," Acta said. "And he's been in the middle of everything."

Of course, ultimately, it is about having a balance. But if you have a young team, you STILL want to have a few vets mixed in to mentor the kids.

In our case, if that veteran can help bolster the defense, even better. And if he can help the young guys with aspects of their games, even better.

I like the signing of Cabrera.

So where to put Grady in the lineup? Is his speed back? I'd start with him in the Keans/Buck spot and let him earn his way back to the top.

I'd be surprised if Grady does a lot of running this year.

Given all the negative reaction, worth repeating that I'm speculating on Grady/leadoff thing. No announcement from Acta yet.

Sounds like #Indians could activate CF Grady Sizemore as soon as tomorrow. Could be big boost to an already strong offense. @MLB

I don't like the idea of messing with chemistry just so the Indians can give more at bats to a guy who has been pretty much awful for the past 2 years due to injuries.

I'd bat Sizemore at 5 or 6 for a few weeks and evaluate from there. I could make a case to put him at 9.

I'm guessing Buck or Kearns get DFA to make room.

Buck gets sent down to Columbus. No buddy knows whether Sizemore's knee will hold up for a week or a month. Might also just see Duncan released. Kearns stays.

Ah yes I posted here before reading the articles.

Didn't realize Buck had an option left. He would the obvious choice.
