Why remove Pepiot? We were completely stymied.

Got no answers or suggestions. This has been a revolting development. Maybe we can swap Columbus' line up with ours. At least Columbus can score 2 or 3 runs. This offense has problems. They look lost.

Another stinker among stinkers. Nice job by all stars Ramirez, Naylor, and Fry in the 9th. Runners on first and second, no outs, and they fail to bat in a singke run leaving both runners stranded on first and second. That's embarrassing.

Could the draft be the only highlight of the day?

At this rate, probably not.

Highlight of the day #1 = KC loses
Highlight of the day #2 = CHI loses
Highlight of the day #3 = SF possible win over the Twins
Snell perfect through 6 with 7 ks
SF 2 Twins 0 bottom of the 6th

Another rotten game by our 4 all stars; one hit in 14 at bats

Kwan and Martinez led the 9th with hits leaving our big bats the chance to do something
They did not. Jose has 1 RBI in July
Josh has 7 but didn't help today
Fry is 2-30 this month and it's clear Rooker should have got the call for backup DH [he hit 2 homers and batted in 5 today; his homerun total is 21]

Some more good news from San Fran. They beat the Twins. We maintain our 4.5 game lead. Twins are sucking also. Fortunately for us.

Yet another exercize in futility. The guardians are trending in the wrong direction. I think everyome can agree we overachieved in the first half. We were very fortunate along the way.

Fortunately the twins were following in our footsteps. We maintain our 5 game lead as the brew crew knocked off the twins in 11 by a score of 8-4. The brewers took a 3-1 lead in the 10th but Santana blasted a 2 run homer to tie the game at 3 apiece. The brewers came back with 5 in the 11th. The twins scored 1 but fell 4 short.

KC and Detroit both pick up a game.

It's going to be difficult for this team to duplicate their first half effort. Unless we can add a productive bat and a quality starter, I'd be happy to finish the second half of the season at .500. The second half schedule is not in our favor. We'll need all the help we can get.

Pretty obvious we don't have any help on the way from within. I don't think that the impact player we're looking for is out there that's available. I think we have to live with what got us this far. Just grin and bear it and live with what we got and hope for the best. At the moment, let's hope .500 ball the rest of the way is good enough. I'd like to see Rodriguez and Florial promoted. They are the closest we have to being major league ready.....in my opinion.

Probably. He's the only resort we have to being major league ready. At least he has some major league experience. The rookies, for the most part, are being overwhelmed.

Best at the Break

It’s okay, you can admit it was a rough week for the Guardians. Losers of four of their last five, the team was outscored 21-9 in that stretch. However, with similar performances from the top teams around the league, the Guards are still in first place in the entire American League and second overall behind the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Guardians announced that right-hander Peter Strzelecki has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus. In a corresponding move, right-hander Spencer Howard has been designated for assignment. The club’s 40-man roster count drops to 39.
