Not quite sure who Tito should have started. History of starting guys on short rest is terrible.
Civale is not a very good pitcher but Plesac is not better.
Cody Morris is very likely to fill a rotation spot next year but starting him would have been pretty gutsy. Although I would have had more confidence than him than the two noted above

This was so predictable. We really didn't have a chance with Civale. Anyone but Civale.

The pitching (minus Civale) kept us in the game. We play differently in a one or two run ballgame. Down by 3 in the first inning was a mountain too high to climb.

It was a fun season to be a Cleveland Guardian fan.

Can't fall back by 3 runs in the first inning. Yankees have too many guns in the arsenal.

Gotta believe the game would have turned out a little differently with Plesac opening the game.

would not have expected much better from a pitcher with a 3-12 record and 4.31 ERA.
The last thing I am interested in doing is second guessing the decisions made by the American League Manager of the Year for a team that dramatically outperformed all expectations.
Second last think I am interested in doing is speculating how it would have gone if they had played last night with Tallion on the mound for NY.
What happened happened.

RIP 2022 Guardians.

Yeah joez that will certainly be the storyline for Cleveland fans for the loss today - why Civale? But I'm with civ - Tito is the man. But he ain't perfect so I do believe not starting Bieber was a mistake. Even if he only goes 4 then they can use their studs.

That said, big picture, not even the craziest optimist could have forecasted how this season went. A lot to look forward to!

Bottom line!

Just say'n.

With the extra day, I thought for sure Plesac would have been the starter for the game.

When Francona said he was sticking with Civale, I was shaking my head.

Hell, If Bieber was in the mix for an inning or two, why not innings 1 and 2?

It was crucial to keep the Yankees from scoring early.

Bieber and Plesac or Plesac and Bieber for 2 innings each could have gotten us to the fifth, hopefully, without giving up any runs. The Guardians scored one in the third. It would have been nice heading into the fifth with a 1-0 lead.

Wishful thinking.

Second guessing is a large part of following baseball. Francona made a huge mistake today. Saving Bieber so he will be ready to pitch for the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers or Padres in the future is great. I guess we can expect that Cortes ruined his career by pitching today.

NY is a team that takes the outside pitch and sends it to right, right-center. You can't pitch these guys outside
because there is a very fine line where to place that pitch. Hammy, who wish would just shut up, did have it right it
right the entire sueres, you have to pitch them inside, inside, inside. 1 out of every 4 or 5 either up and away or
low and away.

We are all focusing on the pitching, but you can't win many games with just 1 run. Turning point in the game is when Jose came up with the bases loaded. He is our Judge, our Rizzo. If this is the first half of the season I would think there would have been a double in the gap or a grand slam. Big stars rise to big occasions.
Karinchek was warming up in the first. After the first 2 batters it was pretty clear that Civale was not going to cut it. I bring in James! We had a full bullpen.
Getting back to Jose, he gets a substantial hit in that situation and the entire team plays better.
Great season and I don't mean to dump on Jose.
