Yankees are supposed to beat the Twins. They did not.

The Twins broke out their Boomsticks again last night. Their offense is for real, remains to be seen what they do to shore up their pitching.

With only ONE trade deadline this year, teams have to make up their minds earlier. I saw on MLB Network the Tribe has a much tougher schedule in August than they have had lately. (Anything would be tougher)

If I am Chernoff I am still listening for sure.

I think Lonnie Chisenhall is probably available from the Pirates. Of course, he's been out all season with his mad calf disease.

R.J. Anderson of CBS Sports reports that the Braves are willing to include RHP prospect Ian Anderson in trade discussions.

Anderson is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, but because the Braves have so many talented young hurlers, it appears that Atlanta is willing to at least discuss moving the 21-year-old in the right deal.

The 2016 first-round pick has fanned 129 hitters in 99 2/3 innings with Double-A Mississippi, and he owns a 2.80 ERA in that time frame. Put simply, this could put the Braves over the top in trade discussions, as there aren't many arms -- or bats -- that would better or equal this compensation.

Ok, so you add in a hitter along with Anderson in a deal for Bauer and that would be just "Thick as a Brick" for me!

Like a Christian Pache (although I believe he is their top hitting prospect and they wouldn't..)

Where I come from thick as a brick means dumb. You know, thick headed or whatever. But I'm sure that's not what you meant, TFIR.

Every time I'm reminded of Jethro Tull I get pissed that his "Crest of a Knave" album beat Metallica's "And Justice For All" for Best Hard Rock Album Grammy back in late 80's.

Criminal.

A couple years later when Metallica won the Grammy for their self titled Black Album, they thanked Jethro Tull on stage for not releasing an album that year.

Jethro Tull story.

My wife is friends with the mother of Peter Stroud. Peter Stroud is the guitar player and musical director for Sheryl Crow and tours with Don Henley.

He was visiting Greensboro and his mother and stopped by the house.

His first question was OK, who gave my mother the Jethro Tull CD ?

His mother is in her 80's so I was not quick to answer.

Finally I said it was me.

Peter looked at me and said, "Cool !

Sort of broke the ice and allowed me to ask him about Don Henley and Eric Clapton. Great stories.

I bet!

I was excited to hear the Eagles we’re getting back together and doing some shows in Vegas. Till I went to purchase tickets....

They are going to do some shows for some extremely wealthy people. Not me.

The Minnesota Twins, with their AL Central lead shrinking seemingly by the day, have made a trade to improve their bullpen.

Saturday night the Twins and Marlins finalized a deal sending veteran right-hander Sergio Romo to Minnesota, both teams announced. It's a four-player trade that will see one prospect go to Miami. The details:
Twins receive: RHP Sergio Romo, RHP Chris Vallimont, player to be named later
Marlins receive: 1B Lewin Diaz

The Twins came into Saturday having received a 4.41 ERA and a 23.8 percent strikeout rate from their bullpen this season, both middle of the pack numbers. In recent weeks Minnesota cut ties with relievers Mike Morin, Adalberto Mejia, and Blake Parker as part of a midseason bullpen overhaul.

Romo, 36, has a 3.58 ERA and 17 saves this season, though he's been much better since an ugly stretch to begin the year. He allowed 16 runs in his first 23 innings and has allowed only two runs in 14 2/3 innings since. Romo is still death on righties (.203/.241/.392 against) and he's working on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, so he's an affordable rental.

Well the Astros have acquired Zack Greinke and Aaron Sanchez.

Do they have a billionaire oil man as an owner that pours personal wealth into his club or something? How are they putting together this monstrosity?
