The miserable weather may be partly to blame but not even a bit surprised Morgan was rocked around pretty badly. He is a very modest prospect. Tito was suggesting he'll start again Wednesday. For Monday Quantrill might go one game with McKenzie the other. Glad they now play 7 innings in doubleheaders. Less chance to totally blow out the bullpen. Hope Q pitches well and earns at least a few starts in the rotation. Even then we'd still have only Bieber Civale Hentges, who's still learning on the job and Quantrill and will have to keep McK from getting the AAA experience he could us or Morgan or Mejia or make that trade for Josh Tomlin.

CLEVELAND -- The Indians and Blue Jays had their fill of playing through bad weather. After Friday’s series opener was full of rain and wind, Saturday’s matchup was called more than an hour before first pitch due to expected inclement weather later in the evening.

The Indians and Blue Jays will make up Saturday’s postponement on Sunday as a traditional doubleheader beginning at 1:10 p.m. ET. Gates will open at 12 p.m. ET and only fans who have tickets to Sunday’s originally scheduled game will be able to attend.

Now, the Indians are going to tackle doubleheaders on consecutive days. First, Cleveland will have Aaron Civale in Game 1 against the Blue Jays on Sunday, with Sam Hentges getting the start in Game 2. Monday’s starters for two games against the White Sox are still to be determined, although Indians manager Terry Francona said the expectation was that the team would add Triston McKenzie as the 27th man against Chicago. An overtaxed bullpen from Friday night will now have a day to rest on Saturday, however that ‘pen will need to survive four games in the next two days.

We save 4 innings of relief work this way.

Not looking so good today; but at least we're almost at the end of the day. Civale allowed 2 homers but got in 6 innings. Hentges basically a mess with 3 walks 4 hits and 4 runs in 2 1/3.
the 27th man was Ernie Clement. They added even more pitchers.
Sure glad they're using the 7 inning rule.
Still plenty of fresh arms available to bail out McKenzie and Whomever tomorrow.

Offense is back asleep, 1 run in the 11 innings played so far today.

The 6th inning rally was legit; three guys with RBI hits; game tied on Harold's dp. Clase not too sharp but then the Jays gave us a little league win.

Never saw Quantrill today so he'll evidently start one game Monday. 3 innings, 4 tops. bullpen is not overly extended. didnt see Nelson or Shaw or Karinchak today. several others only pitched 1 inning.

Quite an impressive lineup in the opener against Rodon who no hit us last time. 4 of the starters, hitting 4th 5th 8th and 9th started the season in Columbus. Chang is not one of those but he's a hitting a mighty 150.

McKenzie vs the Sox this season has an idiotic line: they're hitting 150 against him with 3 hits in 20 at bats, but 2 of those are homers, he's walked 6 and nearly all the outs by strikeout: 12 of them. So the offensive line vs MdK is 150/346/450. And the AB-R-H-BI line is 20-8-3-8. And hit pitching line:

6 3 8 8 6 12 ERA 12.00 WHIP 2.333 AVG vs. 150

Nice rallies. Bad defense. McKenzie was great and terrible. Our closers are both becoming imperfect.

Zimmer seems to have a new approach to hitting: pretty effective small ball. Looks like a slugger but if he can hit singles, steal bases, and some line drive extra base hits he could be useful. It worked in Columbus for a few weeks and has worked here for one week.

Whew, that was close. Karinchak has been solved, and just barely held on to a 3 run lead. it is a great advantage to have 2 closers we can rotate between. With Brian Shaw in reserve and perhaps Nick Sandlin too.
Thank you Mr. Hedges for a 2 run homer. Everyone contributed something other than Bauers.

Quantrill started out with a leadoff homer in the first; and now is throwing dozens of pitches in the second. Score is 2-0 and the bases are loaded with only 1 out and he's heading to 40 pitch total. We may have had more 4 inning or less starts already this year than we did in all of 2019. Q might just be a good reliever who can't start; we expected more than that of him
